This is what you will do:Â
The Associate Director, Biostatistics has sufficient experience working as a statistician in the pharmaceutical industry to independently perform and lead statistical work within a project, an indication within a more complex project. This individual is able to lead, and direct biostatistics work either in house or partnering with CROs to ensure delivery to quality and time. Â
You will be responsible for:Â
The Associate Director, Biostatistics may work as a lead statistician:Â
For a project or indication in clinical or preclinical therapeutic areasÂ
Leading the delivery and oversight on a multiple studies/indication within a project, potentially as a Global Project Statistician for a standard drug projectÂ
Contributing to statistical methodological advancesÂ
Accountabilities for supporting projects directly include:Â
Lead the statistical thinking and contributions to the delivery of studies, development plans, regulatory strategy, health technology assessment and/or commercial activitiesÂ
Direct project work, including statistical staff and/or CRO partners, to ensure delivery to standards, quality, and timeÂ
Develop design options and provide high quality decision support to enable the business to make informed decisions about a study or projectÂ
Quantify the benefit, risk, value, and uncertainty of the emerging asset/product profileÂ
Investigate and apply novel statistical approaches, for relevant statistical issues and/or regulatory guidance and/or value demonstration, including modelling and simulationÂ
Leverage standardization to maximize global data integration and interpretabilityÂ
Mentor/coach and support the education and training of statistics staffÂ
You will need to have:Â
3 years’ experience and an MSc/PhD in Statistics, Mathematics (containing a substantial statistical component), or recognized equivalent to stats MScÂ
Strong knowledge of programming in R and/or SASÂ
Knowledge of the technical and regulatory requirements related to the roleÂ
Excellent communication skills, and ability to build strong relationshipsÂ
Flexible, well-organized, and possess the ability to work well under pressureÂ
The duties of this role are generally conducted in an office environment. We would prefer for you to have:Â
PhD in Statistics/Biostatistics is preferred.Â
Project management skillsÂ
Proficiency in SAS and R languagesÂ
Knowledge of Bayesian statistics from theory to computation is a plus.Â
