Role SummaryĀ
Vertex is seeking aĀ Specialist, Buying Channel Orchestration & EnablementĀ to join the Global Sourcing & Procurement organization within theĀ Source-to-Pay (S2P) Center of Excellence (COE). The Specialist is responsible forĀ supporting the business owner with theĀ enabling, managing, and optimizing buying channels and intake orchestration across the S2P lifecycle.Ā
The Specialist will ensure that users are guided to the right buying pathways, suppliers, and workflows through intuitive, policy-aligned channel design and orchestration tools. Working across platforms such asĀ CoupaĀ and intake/orchestration tools such asĀ Zip, ORO, or similar solutions, the Specialist will help create a buying experience that is compliant, efficient, and easy to use.Ā
This is a business-facing role, not an IT system ownership role. The Specialist will own the business design, configuration direction, and adoption of buying channels and intake workflows, while partnering closely with Digital/IT for technical implementation and support.Ā
Key ResponsibilitiesĀ
Buying Channel Design & EnablementĀ
Support the design, configuration, and continuous optimization of procurement buying channels, including catalogs, preferred suppliers, guided buying paths, and request channelsĀ
Ensure the Specialistās buying channel designs guide users to the appropriate procurement pathway based on category, supplier, policy, and business needĀ
Align buying channels to category strategies, preferred supplier programs, and procurement policy requirementsĀ
Help standardize buying experiences to improve usability, consistency, and compliance across the organizationĀ
Intake & Orchestration ManagementĀ
Configure and manage intake and orchestrationĀ business rulesĀ within platforms such as Zip, ORO, or similar toolsĀ
Ensure intake requests are routed efficiently with the right approvals, workflows, and policy guardrailsĀ
Continuously refine routing logic, intake rules, forms, and user journeys to improve both user experience and process complianceĀ
Partner with stakeholders to ensure intake experiences support procurement objectives and business needsĀ
Platform & Workflow ConfigurationĀ
SupportĀ the business owner for the configuration of buying channels and intake workflows in tools such as Coupa and orchestration platformsĀ
Translate business requirements into workflows, forms, routing logic, and user experiencesĀ
Partner with Digital/IT on technical updates while maintaining ownership of process design and business configuration requirementsĀ
Support testing, validation, and process readiness for workflow or channel changesĀ
User Experience & AdoptionĀ
Support the identificationĀ friction points across buying channels and intake workflows and drive practical improvementsĀ
Support training materials, user documentation, and change management efforts to improve adoption of preferred procurement channelsĀ
Support the monitoring ofĀ user behavior, channel usage, and workflow outcomes to ensure alignment with intended processesĀ
Support theĀ simplification ofĀ complex procurement processes into intuitive and user-friendly experiencesĀ
Compliance & Policy AlignmentĀ
Support the business owner toĀ reinforce procurement policies, including preferred supplier use, approved workflows, and āNo PO, No Payā requirementsĀ
Support the business owner to help reduce maverick spend by guiding users through compliant and optimized buying pathwaysĀ
Support the business owner toĀ Partner with Governance and Category teams to maintain alignment between procurement policy and channel executionĀ
Support the business owner withĀ enforcement of business rules that improve compliance without creating unnecessary complexityĀ
Performance & Continuous ImprovementĀ
Support the business owner to track channel effectiveness through metrics such as adoption rates, cycle times, compliance levels, and workflow efficiencyĀ
Support the business owner to identify improvement opportunities and recommend enhancements that simplify and standardize the buying experienceĀ
Partner with Analytics teams to support reporting, dashboards, and insights on buying channel and intake performanceĀ
Contribute to ongoing process improvement efforts across the S2P lifecycleĀ
Required QualificationsĀ
Bachelorās degree requiredĀ
4ā6+ years of experience in procurement, Procure-to-Pay (P2P), sourcing operations, buying channel enablement, or related rolesĀ
Experience working with procurement platforms such asĀ Coupa, including catalogs, guided buying, and supplier enablementĀ
Experience with intake and orchestration tools such asĀ Zip, ORO, or similar workflow-based platformsĀ
Strong understanding of procurement processes and user-facing workflowsĀ
Demonstrated ability to translate business needs into system-enabled workflows without owning the technical buildĀ
Strong collaboration, communication, and stakeholder management skillsĀ
Ability to work effectively in a cross-functional, process-driven environment with attention to detail and execution qualityĀ
Technical SkillsĀ Ā
Procurement process knowledge across S2P and P2P activitiesĀ
Policy-aligned channel design and compliance enablementĀ
User journey and process experience improvementĀ
Business requirements translation into workflow configurationsĀ
Performance tracking, reporting inputs, and continuous improvement supportĀ
Preferred SkillsĀ
Experience in a COE, procurement transformation, or process excellence environmentĀ
Familiarity with guided buying, intake management, and procurement orchestration designĀ
Experience supporting preferred supplier programs and buying channel strategiesĀ
Exposure to CLM, TPRM, or P2P integration points across the S2P lifecycleĀ
Experience working in regulated environments with strong compliance expectationsĀ
Experience supporting training, adoption, and change management for procurement tools and workflowsĀ

Pay Range:

The range provided is based on what we believe is a reasonable estimate for the base salary pay range for this job at the time of posting. This role is eligible for an annual bonus and annual equity awards. Some roles may also be eligible for overtime pay, in accordance with federal and state requirements. Actual base salary pay will be based on a number of factors, including skills, competencies, experience, and other job-related factors permitted by law.
