CONSTRUCTION PROJECT MANAGER
Shine Associates, LLC (Shine’) has been retained to search for, identify, and recruit a Project Manager (PM) on behalf of our client (Company’). The position will report to the Boston Office.

CLIENT DESCRIPTION
Founded in 1904, the Firm is one of the oldest real estate firms in the nation, having developed more than 100 million SF throughout the United States. Over its history, the Company has been responsible for the planning and construction of prominent Boston and Cambridge landmarks such as One Boston Place, 28 State St., 100 Summer St., 60 State St. and 55 Cambridge Pkwy.
Today, the Firm is a leader in transit-oriented developments and building for Boston’s innovation workforce. In recent years, the company has permitted and/or built over 1.5 million SF and 1,300 units of multifamily housing in Cambridge, Newton, Needham and Quincy. The Company also continues to advance Office and R&D projects.
POSITION DESCRIPTION
This position is to work on, alongside Principals, a variety of projects which the PM will be responsible for overseeing from its initial conception through to completion and final hand-off. Project type will focus on residential but may include other product types. The PM will be responsible for the project timeline, budget, quality control, and safety compliance, serving as the primary point of contact for clients, subcontractors, architects, and internal stakeholders. The ultimate goal is to deliver projects safely, on time, and within budget.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Project Planning & Scheduling: Develop comprehensive project plans, establish critical milestones, and maintain master schedules to ensure timely delivery.
  • Budget & Financial Management: Manage project budgets, track expenditures, oversee cost-control measures, handle the processing of invoices, pay applications, and change orders.
  • Subcontractor & Vendor Management: Qualify, negotiate, and award contracts to subcontractors and vendors. Coordinate and manage their daily performance and adherence to specs.
  • Stakeholder Communication: Serve as the primary liaison between clients, design teams (architects/engineers), and field superintendents to ensure seamless alignment.
  • Quality & Safety Oversight: Enforce strict adherence to safety regulations (OSHA), building codes, and quality standards on-site.
  • Permitting & Compliance: Secure necessary building permits, licenses, and regulatory approvals required for construction operations.
  • Risk Management: Proactively identify potential project bottlenecks, material delays, or budget overruns and implement effective mitigation strategies.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Self - starter with ability to identify and solve problems from well-conceived options.
  • Solutions driven, team player who has a positive attitude and who can navigate challenging environments.
  • 5-10 years construction management/project management experience.
  • Owner/developer and multi-family experience is a plus.
  • BS/BA in finance, real estate, construction, architecture or other relevant discipline.
  • Ability to work in Microsoft Office Suite and Project software packages.
  • Attention to detail with ability to manage multiple projects and tasks.
  • Demonstrated experience preparing budgets, schedules, and other project control tools.
  • Demonstrated experience seeing projects through close-out and transition to operations.
  • Excellent oral, written and interpersonal skills.
COMPENSATION
The annual compensation for this role is expected to be approximately $175,000. Actual base salary and bonus will be determined by several components, including but not limited to: relevant experience, skills and qualifications, base salary of internal peers, and geographic location. Final compensation will be based upon the candidate’s overall experience and ability to meet the goals for the client. The Company is prepared to offer a competitive compensation package.
