About the Role
The Donor Relations and Ticketing Associate will be responsible for managing multiple Donor Relation projects and working with colleagues to ensure donors are shown gratitude for their gifts, reinforcing the impact their generosity has on the organization's mission.
Central to this role will be to provide concierge ticketing to Board members and the BSO’s most generous donors, which requires excellent customer service, a comprehensive knowledge of donor benefits, and a thorough understanding of ticketing operations, schedules, and policies.
Additionally, the Donor Relations and Ticketing Associate will support the Manager of Donor Relations and Ticketing to implement donor recognition projects and stewardship efforts.
Responsibilities:
- As part of the Concierge Ticketing team, provide top-level customer service for donor ticketing requests via phone, email, and in-person interactions. Must be responsive and knowledgeable about ticketing issues, advance ticketing opportunities, and other pertinent information regarding concert programs and seating options.
- Understand and communicate donor benefits as they relate to ticketing assistance.
- Implement projects from the Manager of Donor Relations and Ticketing that support the donor ticketing collaboration between the Development team and the Ticketing Services team.
- Assist Development Events team with ticketing for major fundraising galas and various donor recognition events.
- Utilize Tessitura database to support donor engagement including but not limited to processing tickets, renewing subscriptions, maintaining waitlists, exchanging tickets, providing donor ticketing reports, and updating donor records with pertinent information.Â
- Collaborate with the Corporate Partnerships team to hold, process, exchange, and report on donor tickets as related to corporate benefits.
- Answer questions regarding performance content and ticket policies. Provide donors with policy information for Symphony Hall and Tanglewood, including outside concerts presented by independent promotors.
- Assist Donor Relations team with administrative support in various donor recognition projects, including the tracking and follow-through of donor recognition activities, developing new opportunities to recognize donors.
- Support the Donor Relations team at select concerts and Development events.
- Hours and location may vary due to concert schedules.
- Valid driver’s license required.
- Ability to work in-person at Tanglewood during the summer season.
- Ability to work hybrid in Boston when the orchestra is in residence at Symphony Hall.
Experience:
- College degree or equivalent work experience.
- 2-3 years’ experience in customer service required.
- Prior work experience with ticketing preferred.
- Experience and/or interest in the arts or music preferred.
Skills
- Superior time and project management skills with proven experience working in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong attention to detail extremely important.
- Experience with customer service and conflict resolution, including effectively communicating with constituents by phone, email, and in-person.
- Collaborative team player who interacts successfully and professionally with colleagues and external customers.
- Ability to handle confidential or sensitive information
- Strong computer skills including MS Word, Excel, and relational databases. Experience with Tessitura or a similar CRM database is a plus.
- Commitment to working with people from diverse backgrounds and commitment to cultural competency.

Pay Rate: $22 - 24 per hour
