  • The IP Administrator supporting the IPTS Patent practice provides client service, desk management, and legal and administrative support to the firm’s IP Patent legal staff. This requires teamwork, the ability to work closely and effectively with others, strong communication and technical skills, ability to prioritize and establish work objectives, and the ability to work under deadlines, time pressures, and a generally high level of demand.

    What You'll Do:

    • Preparing and filing formal documents in a timely manner with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office

    • Handling administrative aspects of U.S. patent prosecution

    • Monitoring and maintaining attorney(s) case dockets

    • Maintaining patent application files

    • Composing correspondence, reports, memoranda and legal documents

    • Creating and editing documents, memos, presentations and spreadsheets

    • Calendar management using Outlook and complex meeting planning

    • Coordinating travel arrangements

    • Time Entry and Billing

    Who You Are:

    • 1-2 years required; 3-5 years prior experience preferred as an executive or legal assistant in a large law firm or large corporate environment

    • Must have experience with the preparation of formal documents for USPTO patent filings and with maintaining U.S. patent application files

    • USPTO electronic filing experience a plus

    • Experience with CPI and IPDAS a plus Knowledge of international procedures and requirements preferred

    • Excellent attention to detail, problem solving, editing, and proofreading ability

    • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to interact with all levels of the organization with tact and diplomacy

    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

The Target Salary Range For This Position Varies By Location And Is Commensurate With Relevant Experience: Boston $80,000.00 - $105,000.00
