Job Summary

Summary
Acts as primary repair resource and subject matter expert resource at the service / biomedical location. As a competent technical resource, will be expected to mentor technicians to improve the competency and value of our technicians. Expected to participate in business growth and productivity improvement initiatives.

Essential Functions
-Leads, instructs, and assists technicians on basic and complex repairs/resolution.

-Responds to equipment problems in clinical or research areas; evaluate, troubleshoot and correct problems up to and including those requiring novel solutions, involving unfamiliar equipment, expert diagnostic skills and having the highest level of acuity and complexity. Determiness need and implements removal and replacement of malfunctioning devices from service

-Uses data indicators to schedule workload, scheduled maintenance, improve operations, and identify system problems/trends.

-Performs repairs and calibrations on equipment.

-Performs preventative maintenance and electrical safety inspections of clinical equipment, devices, and systems.

-Installs and updates medical devices when required including those requiring software revision.

-Acts as first line resource for technician team members and helps to think through complex problems in an innovative manner. Performs repairs and calibrations with the highest degree of complexity or requiring expert diagnostic and repair skills.

Qualifications

Education
High School Diploma or Equivalent required or Associate's Degree Biomedical Technology preferred

Experience
experience in working in Biomedical Equipment Technology 5-7 years required

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Demonstrates strong interpersonal and communication skills to provide effective leadership for scheduling and technical operations coordination.
- Demonstrates a strong ability to perform advanced testing and troubleshooting of medical devices involving specialized test equipment and software diagnostic tools.
- Possesses a high level of understanding of electrical and mechanical biomedical safety principles.
- Demonstrates a high degree of self-motivation and performs in a highly independent manner with minimal supervision.
- Ability to use computer-based tools at a high level, e.g., novel query of a database.
- Skilled at teaching other technical and clinical personnel.
