Job Summary:

We are seeking a full-time Phlebotomist / Medical Assistant for our Nashua St. Jail location in Boston MA. This position requires prior clinical experience with blood draws.

Responsibilities:

• Provide direct care to include gathering vital signs such as temperature, blood pressure, pulse and respiration rates, food, and fluid intake and output.
• Perform and assist offenders with feeding, basic hygiene and other activities of daily living.
• Perform timely, accurate and concise documentation of patient care in the approved format.
• Identify and maintain professional boundaries to preserve the integrity of the therapeutic process and relationship.
• Ensure compliance with all facility and CPS policies, and Federal and state laws, regulations and guidelines including HIPPA
• Coordinate care closely with custody staff while maintaining a positive, collaborative relationship.
• Maintain ethical commitment to ensure confidentiality within the limits of a correctional environment.
• Deliver care to offenders in a nonjudgmental/nondiscriminatory manner to protect the autonomy, dignity, and rights of offenders.
• Understand and adhere to security rules and regulations of the institution.
• Other duties as assigned.

Schedule:

Mon-Fri 6:45am - 3:15pm

Salary:

$21-$26 pending experience

Requirements

Qualifications & Education:

• High School
• CPR certification required
• Experience with blood draws a MUST
• Prior employment history within the medical field
• Must be able to pass a facility background clearance

Physical Requirements:

• Regularly required to stand; sit; use hands to handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop; kneel, crouch, or crawl; talk and hear.
• Regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds; occasionally lift and/or move over 35 pounds.
• Regularly able to adequately perform CPR.
