Learn more about the company at www.pafco.net.   We are hiring an MHE Mechanic to join the maintenance mechanic team to ensure all machinery is well kept and any necessary repairs on equipment are taken care of.   Responsibilities Under the direct supervision of the Shop or Service Manager the Technician is responsible for performing periodic maintenance, repair, replacement and troubleshooting on material handling equipment Must be proficient in completing all required paperwork needed to perform all job requirements Able to read and understand electrical and hydraulic system schematics Able to repair, or replace major system components, including circuit boards and other electrical parts, hydraulic, mechanical, L.P. systems, power steering and transmissions, engines with limited supervision Perform engine tune-ups on most makes of equipment without supervision Perform proper PMs in a timely manner Be able to troubleshoot and diagnose most complex electrical systems on IC and electric trucks Be able to use all special tools properly Maintain and properly use the normal tools of trade Assist with training/mentoring apprentice mechanics through on-the-job training Follows all safety procedures in performing work as well as company policies Demonstrates exceptional customer service skills Properly identify and order all necessary replacement parts Maintain complete repair order records Ensure a safe work environment Responsible for performing all job duties with honesty and integrity Ability to learn and follow Distribution Center paperwork policies and procedures encompassing Purchase Orders, Parts Requisitions and Inventory and Maintenance Orders Most work is performed under typical warehouse conditions Associates work in departments which may range in temperature from 80°to -20° F. In cases of temperature outside the norm, Personal Protective Equipment is provided **9am start time, but training hours may differ * Qualifications Minimum two years of experience or training in the industrial equipment repair field and have current licenses, state and local Experience with electrical systems, general equipment repair, and hydraulics. Proficiency in troubleshooting and servicing AC- and DC-powered equipment. Must provide and maintain personal tools necessary to perform maintenance and repair duties. Ability to lift and carry up to 75 pounds and frequently stand, walk, bend, stoop, twist, and turn. Ability to work with hands and arms overhead and safely work in, around, and underneath equipment. Requires strong manual dexterity, coordination, and balance to perform work at ground level and at elevated heights. Ability to safely operate maintenance-related equipment, including power tools, hand tools, forklifts, pallet jacks, and diagnostic equipment. Ability to troubleshoot equipment issues, identify root causes, and perform repairs in a safe and efficient manner. Ability to follow established safety procedures, maintenance practices, and manufacturer guidelines.
