Tufts Medicine is seeking a Board Certified/Board Eligible Orthopedic Hand Surgeon to join our highly regarded Department of Orthopaedic Surgery. Our orthopedic faculty represent a deeply collaborative and stable group with exceptionally low turnover, a reflection of the culture, leadership, and long-term career satisfaction within the department. The hand and upper extremity service is supported by a robust referral base and strong multidisciplinary partnerships.
The department is home to a highly respected Orthopaedic Surgery Residency and an ACGME-accredited Hand Surgery Fellowship. Our training programs attract top-tier candidates nationally, creating a dynamic academic environment grounded in mentorship, scholarship, and surgical excellence.
For graduating fellows, this position offers exceptional mentorship from nationally recognized faculty who are deeply invested in career development, surgical growth, and academic advancement. Junior surgeons are supported with thoughtful onboarding, case collaboration, and meaningful guidance as they establish their practice.
Position Highlights
Comprehensive surgical and non-operative management of hand and upper extremity conditions
Strong, stable referral network across the health system
Contribute to the Medical Education of Tufts Medicine Orthopedic residents, hand surgery fellows, and medical students
Dedicated additional operating room time in a newly constructed, free-standing ASC featuring a beautifully designed facility in a highly desirable and convenient location
Academic appointment and opportunities for research engagement
Collaborative relationships with plastic surgery, trauma, rheumatology, neurology, and rehabilitation services
Shared call within a supportive orthopedic service
Qualifications
MD or DO degree
Board Certified or Board Eligible in Orthopaedic Surgery
Fellowship training in Hand Surgery
Eligibility for Massachusetts licensure

The salary range for this position is $425,000.00 - $475,000.00 annually. Actual compensation will be determined during the selection process and is based on a variety of factors, including, but not limited to, relevant experience, education, internal equity, and academic rank.
