North Suffolk is seeking Overnight Counselors for our Substance Use Disorder Residential Program – Meridian House, located in East Boston.  These programs provide behavior modification treatment for individuals diagnosed with substance use disorder and co-occurring disorders. We provide medication assisted treatment for those individuals who meet the criteria and residents are treated for mental health disorders. This is a 24 hour a day program with 24 hour per day staffing.

This position is full-time 36 hours per week; overnight Thursday-Saturday 9pm-9am. 

What you’ll do:

  • Be awake and available to consumers during overnight shift.
  • Perform hourly rounds and monitoring checks.
  • Write log notes at end of shift, noting any incidents, and maintain regular communication with other team members.
  • Observe medication administration.
  • Complete basic administrative tasks such as answering phone for program, filing, data entry, and word processing.
  • Monitor and ensure health and safety of residents.
  • Respond appropriately to residents and act as a role model.
  • Contribute to the efforts of the program in maintaining a high quality living environment, and to the overall quality of life for consumers.

What you’ll need:

  • Education:  High school degree or GED required.
  • Experience:  One (1) year human services experience with similar population preferred.
  • Skills:  First Aid and CPR certification, or ability to become certified within 5 months of hire required (training provided)
