North Suffolk is looking for an Overnight Support Specialist to join our  Emergency Respite Program team!  Overnight Support Specialists reports to the Program Manager. Under the supervision of the Respite Program Manager, the Overnight Support Specialist is responsible for the safety and well-being of persons in site based respite settings during overnight shifts. This position provides direct services to persons in ICGLE/IMGLE settings based on need level and adheres to all agency policies and procedures and licensing/funding source requirements. 



What you’ll do:

  • Be awake and available to persons during overnight shift until persons have left residential program, or until the morning staff person arrives.
  • Check in with staff, persons who are awake and complete a walk-through of the program every hour. Read the Staff Communication Log and review risk plans. 
  • Document each person’s progress in the confidential record.
  • Perform household maintenance and upkeep as needed. 
  • Write daily notes at end of shift if needed, noting any incidents and maintain regular communication with other team members.
  • Complete medication counts.

What you’ll need:

  • Education: 
    • High School diploma or GED required. 
    • Bachelor’s degree in any related field preferred.
  • Experience: 
    • In lieu of college degree, at least six months experience with population that has severe and persistent mental illness and/or substance use disorder. 
  • Skills: 
    • Must have valid Massachusetts Driver’s license. 
    • Must be or able to become MAP certified
    • CPR/First Aid certified within five months of hire (training provided).
