The Process Dev Engineering Senior Research Associate will be part of a team responsible for process development and optimization, as well as characterization of cell product for ongoing and future projects. This position will support the Thursday through Monday shift.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Participates in the design and planning of process development and characterization studies under the supervision of senior members.
- Maintains 2D and 3D pluripotent stem cell culture in various cell culture platforms.
- Formulate media and factors according to established procedures in an aseptic environment.
- Generate samples for analytical assays and coordinate with Analytical team to plan timely analysis.
- Ensure data integrity by timely completion of documentation, including experiment recording in an electronic lab notebook system.
- Compile, organize, and analyze experimental data for report writing.
- Support a fully integrated team to facilitate the success of projects.
- Work within departmental teams, support deliverables and participate in team discussions on issue resolution.
- Contribute to fostering a collaborative working environment and positive team culture.
- Ensure compliance with lab safety procedures.
Knowledge and Skills:
- Proficiency with mammalian cell culture and aseptic technique.
- Experience with cell processing devices and bioreactor platforms/scales such as spinner flasks, fixed bed reactors, stirred tank reactors and/or Ambr systems.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to follow detailed instructions and to maintain detailed and accurate records and notes.
- Willingness to learn and take initiatives, with a team-oriented attitude.
- Must be skilled in the Windows operating system and Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint. JMP and GraphPad Prism preferred.
- Weekend (Saturday and Sunday) work is required and must have a flexible schedule to work some holidays.
Education and Experience:
- A bachelor’s degree in biology, biochemical engineering or related discipline with 2-4 years of experience, or master’s degree with 0-1 years of experience is required.
Contract Duration: 6 months, with the possibility of extension.
Pay Range
$38/hr. - $40/hr.
