Position Summary

The Product & Engineering Operations Analyst enables effective execution across the Product and Engineering organization by driving operational rigor, reporting, governance, planning, and cross-functional coordination. This role serves as a central point of support for organizational operating rhythms, portfolio visibility, leadership reporting, process improvement, and operational decision-making.

 

Working closely with Product Management, Engineering, Program Management, and business stakeholders, the analyst helps create alignment, improve transparency, and ensure teams have the information, processes, and tools needed to execute strategic priorities effectively.

This position is ideal for a highly analytical and organized professional who enjoys solving problems, improving processes, and translating data into actionable business insights.

 

This role has been designated for a hybrid work arrangement (in-office: TUE/WED/THU. Remote: MON/FRI. Candidates must be commutable to Boston, MA.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Product & Engineering Operations

  • Support Product and Engineering operating rhythms, including planning cycles, leadership reviews, governance forums, business updates, and action-item management.
  • Coordinate follow-up activities and maintain visibility into key decisions, priorities, and commitments.
  • Support operational planning and execution activities that improve alignment, accountability, and organizational effectiveness.
  • Develop and maintain processes, templates, and operating mechanisms that enable consistent execution across Product and Engineering teams.

 

Portfolio, Initiative & Execution Management

  • Track strategic initiatives, product priorities, deliverables, milestones, risks, dependencies, and action items across the organization.
  • Partner with stakeholders to gather status updates, identify execution challenges, and escalate issues when appropriate.
  • Maintain visibility into product roadmaps, portfolio activities, engineering execution metrics, and planning commitments.
  • Support successful execution of business priorities through proactive coordination and follow-through.

 

Reporting, Analytics & Decision Support

  • Develop and maintain dashboards, scorecards, reports, executive summaries, and presentation materials.
  • Collect, analyze, and synthesize operational, portfolio, product, and business performance data.
  • Identify trends, risks, gaps, and opportunities to support informed decision-making.
  • Provide insights and recommendations that support roadmap reviews, portfolio prioritization, resource planning, and operational improvement initiatives.

 

Process Governance & Knowledge Management

  • Maintain process documentation, operating procedures, governance frameworks, onboarding resources, templates, and knowledge repositories.
  • Ensure documentation remains accurate, accessible, current, and aligned with established operating practices.
  • Support adoption of standardized processes and best practices across Product and Engineering teams.
  • Promote effective knowledge sharing and documentation discipline throughout the organization.

 

Cross-Functional Coordination & Stakeholder Support

  • Partner with Product Management, Engineering, Program Management, Operations, Finance, and other business functions to support execution of shared objectives.
  • Facilitate communication, information sharing, and alignment across teams and stakeholders.
  • Assist in the development of business cases, investment analyses, and decision-support materials.
  • Coordinate reporting activities, planning deliverables, stakeholder communications, and follow-up actions to support organizational effectiveness.

 

Tools, Systems & Operational Improvement

  • Support the administration, adoption, and optimization of operational tools and collaboration platforms, including Microsoft 365, SharePoint, Teams, Planner, Power BI, Jira, and related systems.
  • Maintain data quality and reporting integrity across dashboards, trackers, repositories, and operational reporting tools.
  • Identify opportunities to streamline workflows, automate manual activities, and improve operational efficiency.
  • Support implementation of process and technology enhancements that improve productivity, visibility, and team effectiveness.

 

Continuous Improvement

  • Analyze operational performance, stakeholder feedback, and business processes to identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives that enhance efficiency, transparency, consistency, and organizational effectiveness.
  • Contribute recommendations that strengthen operational excellence, collaboration, and execution across Product and Engineering teams.
  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement through data-driven analysis, problem solving, and best-practice sharing.

 

Additional Responsibilities

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Operations Management, Engineering, Product Management, Information Systems, Project Management, Communications, Data Analytics, Organizational Leadership, or a related field.

 

Work Experience

  • 0-2 years of experience in business operations, product operations, engineering operations, project coordination, analytics, program support, or a related function.
  • Experience collecting and analyzing data, preparing reports, maintaining documentation, and supporting operational processes through academic, internship, co-op, or professional experience.
  • Experience collaborating with multiple stakeholders and managing competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Business Administration, Operations, Engineering, Product Management, Data Analytics, Organizational Leadership, or a related field.
  • Experience with Microsoft 365 tools, including Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Teams, SharePoint, Planner, Power BI, and Power Automate.
  • Familiarity with Jira, Azure DevOps, or similar workflow and project management platforms.
  • Exposure to Agile, Scrum, product development, or engineering environments.
  • Experience with operational reporting, dashboard development, business intelligence tools, SQL, data modeling, or analytics.
  • Experience developing executive presentations, business cases, or decision-support materials.

 

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to transform complex information and data into actionable insights and recommendations.
  • Strong written, verbal, and presentation communication skills.
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Teams, SharePoint, and related productivity tools.
  • Ability to organize, prioritize, and manage multiple assignments while meeting deadlines.
  • Ability to identify risks, dependencies, process gaps, and improvement opportunities while recommending practical solutions.
  • Working knowledge of product development lifecycles, engineering processes, Agile methodologies, and project execution practices.
  • Strong collaboration, relationship-building, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to work independently, exercise sound judgment, and drive follow-through on assigned responsibilities.

 

Working Conditions

  • Hybrid work environment.
  • Primarily office-based work with regular collaboration across Product Management, Engineering, Program Management, Operations, Finance, Sales, Marketing, Customer Support, and leadership teams.
  • Limited travel (approximately 5-25%) may be required for planning sessions, product reviews, meetings, training activities, or company events.
