Registered Nurse – Pre-Operative (Pre-Op RN)

About the Role

We are seeking a compassionate and detail-oriented Pre-Operative Registered Nurse to prepare patients for surgical procedures in a fast-paced perioperative setting. This role plays a critical part in ensuring patient safety, readiness, and optimal surgical outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform pre-operative assessments, including medical history review and vital signs
• Prepare patients physically and emotionally for surgery
• Verify consents, labs, and surgical documentation
• Administer pre-op medications and initiate IV access
• Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia providers, and perioperative teams
• Educate patients and families on procedures and expectations

Qualifications

• Active RN license (BSN preferred)
• BLS/ACLS certification
• 1–2+ years of acute care or perioperative experience preferred
• Strong assessment and communication skills
