SCHEDULE: 40 hours, Monday – Friday, 2:45 a.m. - 11:15 p.m. 

 

Pays $61,464.00-$67,610.40/annually DOE,  (Salary ranges provided are based on relevant experience and skill set)   


LOCATION: 170 Morton Street, Jamaica Plain, MA  


PROGRAM DESCRIPTION: 


The Stabilization Program is a post-detox enhanced shelter-based SOAP (Structured Outpatient Addictions Program) that provides intensive treatment and support to 50 homeless men with a history of chronic substance abuse. 


SUMMARY OF THE POSITION: 


Residential Supervisor is responsible for ensuring a safe and secure residential environment. The 

Residential Supervisor contributes to supporting the success of the clients in their recovery. 

Responsibilities include supervision of the direct care staff and overall operation of a 50 bed men’s post detox residential program. Residential Supervisor; is responsible for guidance, training, and oversight of the Recovery Specialist, relief staff, and housekeeping staff. Residential Supervisor, will oversee the operation of the unit to ensure the safety and security of the clients and staff, provide a professional and supportive atmosphere to encourage client participation on treatment, and monitor the environment for cleanliness, and oversee communication flow to ensure client needs are met.

 Provide direct care services for clients, maintain program records, and facilitate crisis intervention as needed, using CPI model. On shifts when both the Residential Supervisors are working, they will provide direct care services, and perform all functions of a Recovery Specialist, and provide support as directed by the Operations Coordinator, or Clinical Director. 

The Supervisor must be self-motivated with solid communication skills and be capable of working with clients that experience complex issues, such as trauma, addiction, and mental health. The position requires problem solving and mediation skills, as well as a high degree of professional ethics and sensitivity to confidential data and delicate personal issues. Annual CORI review will be conducted for the Residential Supervisor. Acceptable results of annual CORI reviews will be required of Residential Supervisor. 


Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS: 

EDUCATION/TRAINING: 


REQUIRED: 

  • High school diploma or GED 
  • CPR/CPI certification and/or the ability to obtain certifications within 30 days 

PREFERRED: 

  • Bachelor’s degree  
  • Bilingual English/Spanish 
  • Motivational Interviewing and Trauma Informed Care Skills 

KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE: 


REQUIRED: 

  • Minimum of two (2) years supervisory experience in a residential program with a high school diploma OR a minimum of one (1) year supervisory experience with some advanced education or certification in substance abuse treatment or closely related field 
  • One (1) or more years of experience working in substance abuse treatment 
  • One (1) or more years of residential program experience 
  • Knowledge, understanding, and experience working with the homeless population 
  • Knowledge, understanding, and experience in working with clients who have mental illness 
  • Must possess strong communication skills, both verbal and written 
  • Ability to work positively with coworkers in a team approach 
  • Computer literate with working knowledge of Microsoft Word, database and email 
  • Knowledge and understanding of confidentiality and HIPAA laws 

PREFERRED: 

  • Demonstrated effective experience working with populations with co-occurring disorders 
  • Training in trauma-informed care, crisis prevention, and harm reduction
