The ideal candidate will have a can-do attitude and strong problem-solving skills, as well as a high level of customer service. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES HVAC Mechanic will install heating, ventilation and air conditioning systems in new commercial construction and tenant offices Complete paperwork daily, recording materials used on each job, in accurate manner. Able to independently install new HVAC systems Ability to wire up all basic HVAC low voltage wiring: furnace, a/c, thermostats, zone controls Ability to perform stick welding and TIG Ability to fabricate duct fittings and lay out job without supervision Ability to read blueprints and lay out duct ACCOUNTABILITIES Continual learning and development in the body of knowledge through FirstCall Academy, to ensure we set the bar for skill level in the industry Elite level of customer service, to ensure we continue to be the FirstCall our customers make for their HVAC needs ORGANIZATIONAL ALIGNMENT This position reports to the local Install Manager and is responsible for engaging with the install team and all of our customers. Qualifications 3+ years of experience in install mechanic Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record Experienced with stick welding and TIG Visual acuity sufficient to read instructions, wiring diagrams, blueprints, to install and replace HVAC equipment and parts Mechanical aptitude and the ability to operate, or learn to operate, all necessary tools and equipment Available to work flexible hours and on-call shifts as needed Ability to frequently lift 75 pounds and ability to lift and regularly carry items weighing up to 50 pounds Sufficient physical ability to work in awkward places and from ladders or scaffolding as required by projects Physical ability to endure high and low outside temperatures BEHAVIORAL PROFILE Language Skills Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization. Mathematical Skills Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimal numbers. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret graphs. Reasoning Ability Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations. Mental stamina for problem-solving and prioritizing multiple tasks. Physical Demands While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use their hands. The employee frequently is required to stand, walk, and sit. The employee is continually required to climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
