Facility Management Corporation, known as “FMC Ice Sports” was formed in 1992 to deliver high quality ice sport facility management and operations, as well as ice-based programs that benefit our communities and promote interest in both hockey and skating. We have established a record of quality operations and have grown to be the largest operator of public arenas in the United States. FMC operates 25 public ice skating arenas across the state of Massachusetts in long-term partnership agreements with the Commonwealth and various municipalities as well as educational institutions.


The Senior Maintenance Technician is responsible for the safe maintenance, repair and efficiency of operation of all equipment and areas of responsibility. Supervises all maintenance technicians and coordinates efforts to ensure all personnel are safely, effectively and correctly performing all daily maintenance activities to ensure maximum production quality and efficiency, while also performing PMs and project work/repairs. Work schedule may include a condensed work week and on-call rotation. Travel to all 26 locations required. Company vehicle provided.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Performs and oversees all daily maintenance activities assigned to maintenance technicians. Reprioritize and refocus maintenance team activities as situation requires with or prior authorization from VP of Maintenance and Ops.
  • Supervises all activities of assigned maintenance technicians and ensures production needs are being met during shifts.
  • Monitors the use and inventories of all spare parts and supplies needed for the proper maintenance and emergency repair. Ensure all parts are reordered to ensure inventories are maintained.
  • Performs, assigns and verifies completion of all assigned equipment’s PM assignments.
  • Communicates regularly with all maintenance technicians and arena operations staff to ensure good two-way communication concerning maintenance issues on all equipment and facilities.
  • Updates and maintains all service reports, event logs, operating, service and training manuals required by the maintenance department.
  • Ensures all assigned maintenance technicians are adhering to all policies regarding personal safety and operating procedures.
  • Reviews the operation of all equipment and conditions constantly, to minimize unplanned downtime, anticipate problems, plan future repairs and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Carries out projects and completes work orders in all FMC facilities ensuring all assigned work orders are carried out and all paperwork is completed and filled out correctly.
  • Adhere to all guidelines, mandates and parameters set by Supervisors regarding overtime utilization, parts purchasing procedures, PM frequency and shift scheduling.
  • Maintains a safe, healthy and comfortable work environment for all maintenance

Requirements

  • HS degree or GED
  • 3 years of experience in a facilities maintenance position, including all aspects of carpentry, HVAC, painting, plumbing and minor electrical.
  • Prior work experience operating lift equipment and moving heavy equipment, preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems
  • Must be available to be contacted by maintenance personnel and reasonably available to report to work in cases of emergency.
  • Must be willing to work flexible hours.
  • Must have a valid Driver’s License and acceptable driving record.
  • Must consent to a CORI/SORI and background check.

Full-time position.
