Position Description:

Builds iterative user interface (UI) and application programming interface (API) development using real-time data streaming and in-memory big data and Cloud computing tools -- Spark, Hibernate, and Spring. Builds software development kits (SDK) for third-party integration using React.js and Angular. Designs, develops, and implements UI Web applications with multi-device support using Single Page Architecture (SPA) including Angular, React, Plotly, agGrid, Shiny, jQuery, and HTML5. Leverages programming languages such as Java and JavaScript to produce accurate and maintainable code for test automation and software utilities. Performs front end-development with Angular, React, Hypertext Multi Language (HTML), Javascript, and Cascading Style Sheets (CSS). Provides business solutions by developing complex or multiple software applications.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Develops original and creative technical solutions to on-going development efforts.
  • Designs applications or subsystems on major projects and for/in multiple platforms.
  • Develops applications for multiple projects supporting several divisional initiatives.
  • Supports and performs all phases of testing leading to implementation.
  • Assists in the planning and conducting of user acceptance testing.
  • Develops comprehensive documentation for multiple applications supporting several corporate initiatives.
  • Responsible for post-installation testing of any problems.
  • Establishes project plans for projects of moderate scope.
  • Works on complex assignments and often multiple phases of a project.
  • Performs independent and complex technical and functional analysis for multiple projects supporting several initiatives.

Education and Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, or a closely related field (or foreign education equivalent) and three (3) years of experience as a Senior Software Engineer/Developer (or closely related occupation) designing, developing, and supporting enterprise-grade Java middle-tier applications.

Or, alternatively, a Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, or a closely related field (or foreign education equivalent) and one (1) year of experience as a Senior Software Engineer/Developer (or closely related occupation) designing, developing, and supporting enterprise-grade Java middle-tier applications.

Skills and Knowledge:

Candidate must also possess:

  • Demonstrated Expertise (“DE”) building cross-platform execution environments using Java, Python, or .Net; and performing API/UI development using Java, Spring boot, JavaScript, Angular, or TypeScript.
  • DE deploying financial optimization and other machine learning models using EMR, ECS, EKS, S3, or Batch in an AWS Cloud environment.
  • DE building infrastructure and database pipelines using PL/SQL, or Big Data scripting; and performing API management using Stratum, APIGEE, Akamai, or OAuth.
  • DE performing application testing (including unit, integration, functional, performance, penetration, and building) automation suites using Selenium or Cucumber.

Salary:  $137,900.00 - $141,000.00/year.
