About the Opportunity


Summary

This position leads advanced treasury operations, including strategic cash flow management, financial risk assessment, and investment analysis. Serves as a subject matter expert on treasury processes and provides guidance to junior analysts. The ideal candidate would handle daily cash management reporting, manage banking relationships, perform analyses, prepare internal reporting, and execute special projects, as assigned. The Senior Treasury Analyst will support all aspects of Treasury Operations activities. This includes debt management, investments and non-student revenue and accounts receivables.

Minimum Qualifications

  • B.S. in Accounting, Finance or Economics or similar work experience required  

  • Minimum 4-6 years banking, treasury, accounting, or finance required 

  • Proficiency in Excel and Word required 

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills 

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team 

  • Must be able to multi-task and manage competing deadlines 

  • Customer satisfaction-oriented 

  • Attention to detail and mathematical skills 

  • Ability to learn new technologies, processes and procedures 

  • Ability to analyze and solve problems in a timely manner is a must 

  • CTP designation preferred 

  • Experience administering small-to-moderately sized projects, programs, and/or processes 

  • Banner, Workday and/or Transact (f/k/a CASHNet) experience preferred 

Key Responsibilities

  • Reconcile all prior day payment batches to end-of-day system reports. Maintain report communicating all prior day payments processed per internal and/or bank systems and the support for all transactions. Triangulate three different systems (a three-way match: Bank, Payment Processing and Accounting) to identify issues. Detect unidentified cash transactions and resolve. Proactively communicate issues and solutions to Accounting and other university constituents.

  • Prepare Daily Cash Position report. Research unknown transactions. Make investment purchase/sale recommendations based upon excess or deficient bank balances. Recommend process improvements.  

  • Assist with Bank Relationship management. Evaluate banking products and services. Perform timely maintenance of bank systems and reviews of price information. Provide bank account administration and services support including documentation for opening and closing bank accounts, tracking and updating bank signatories, etc. Provide administration support for the University's banking platform(s). 

  • Process current day cash and check transactions for internal customers and deposit checks to bank via Remote Deposit Service.

  • Process returns, refunds and chargebacks, including checks, electronic payments and credit card payments.  

  • Develops and oversees detailed cash flow strategies to align with organizational goals and minimize risk. 

  • Evaluates financial risks, including foreign exchange and interest rate exposure, and recommends mitigation strategies. 

  • Conducts in-depth analysis of investment opportunities to optimize returns while maintaining liquidity. 

  • Provides training and guidance to junior treasury analysts and ensures adherence to best practices. 

  • Prepares comprehensive treasury reports and ensures compliance with internal and external regulations. 

  • Assist Assistant Treasurer with projects as needed.
