Software Engineer III (Full Stack)

About VivoSense 

VivoSense is a science and technology company specializing in digital health technologies (DHTs), including wearable sensors, mobile applications, and connected monitoring tools. We partner with pharmaceutical sponsors, healthcare providers, and academic groups to develop and deliver real-world digital clinical measures backed by rigorous scientific and analytic expertise.

Following our Series A financing in 2022, we are expanding our digital biomarker and clinical operations capabilities. We are seeking a Software Engineer III to support our growing portfolio of DHT enabled clinical trials as we continue building more structured, CRO-aligned processes.

 We are looking for an ambitious individual with a passion for learning new things and a self-starter attitude. The ideal candidate should be comfortable navigating an ambiguous environment, devising solutions that fit user needs, and implementing them.

Key Responsibilities 

  • Design, develop, test, deploy, maintain, and improve software.
  • Collaborate to define key results (OKRs) and deliver them as a team.
  • Review code developed by other developers and provide feedback to ensure best practices in code health, quality, testability, and efficiency.
  • Work with cross-functional teams—including Science, Quality, Product, and Business Development—to understand requirements and manage priorities.
  • Partner with internal and external engineering teams to deliver features end to end, ensuring seamless integration and timely completion.
  • Come up with technical solutions and designs for features, write design documents, and drive implementation end to end.

Qualifications 

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or engineering discipline, or equivalent experience.
  • Understanding of Agile methodologies and experience working with remote, distributed teams.
  • Good understanding of cloud-native applications and enterprise application architectures.
  • Strong grasp of programming, with fluency in Kotlin, Ktor, Kafka, and Angular.
  • 3 to 6 years of experience as a Full Stack Software Engineer.

Preferred Qualifications 

  • Demonstrated expertise in system design and the effective use of AI for code generation
  • Ability to design scalable systems and utilize AI-driven tools to improve code quality and productivity
  • Experience working within a regulated Quality Management System, such as ISO 13485 or 21CFR820.
  • Ability to work in a small, fast-paced team environment.
