Responsibilities Negotiates with other insurance carriers Reviews incoming adverse subrogation claim files Assures adequate coverage and determines the status of previous payments on incoming subrogation claims by accessing the Company’s computer system Refers active subrogation claims to the assigned Subrogation Specialist Gathers information from insureds, claimants, witnesses, and others to determine liability and support settlement offers Makes/receives and accepts/rejects settlements/demands from adverse carriers Develops and maintains appropriate files and records Initiates and documents correspondence via CRT Prepares files for arbitration and attorneys Develops and maintains a diary, pending, and other files and records Performs other activities as required Qualifications High school diploma or commensurate experience is required; college degree preferred A minimum of 3 years’ experience handling Massachusetts auto claims is required Proven negotiation skills required Previous subrogation or collections experience preferred Experience using a computerized system preferred Ability to work independently and manage a high caseload
