Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced, diligent and detail-oriented GL Accountant with strong understanding of local (UK) and US GAAP, and financial reporting standards. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting, maintaining the integrity of the general ledger, and supporting statutory and audit requirements across multiple entities in one country.

This role requires strong technical accounting expertise, the ability to manage competing deadlines, and a proactive approach to problem-solving in a fast-paced environment.

This position is based in Warsaw and requires full-time on-site presence (5 days per week in the office).

Responsibilities 

  • Manage full general ledger accounting for assigned legal entities
  • Perform and review monthly, quarterly, and year-end closing activities
  • Prepare and post journal entries, accruals, and prepayments
  • Perform balance sheet reconciliations and ensure timely resolution of reconciling items
  • Maintain fixed asset register and depreciation schedules
  • Ensure compliance with local GAAP and IFRS requirements
  • Support preparation of statutory financial statements and liaise with external auditors
  • Assist with internal and external audits by preparing supporting documentation
  • Coordinate with AP,AR, HR, and Tax teams to ensure completeness and accuracy of financial data
  • Support intercompany reconciliations and transactions
  • Contribute to process improvements and standardization initiatives
  • Ensure adherence to internal controls and company policies

Experience & Skills

  • Master degree in Accounting, Finance or related
  • At least 5 years of experience in accounting
  • Experience working with multiple legal entities
  • Very good knowledge of accounting principles, US GAAP and FRS 102
  • Experience supporting statutory audits
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Fluent Polish and English (C1-C2) (written and spoken)
  • Other European languages will be a strong advantage
  • Proficiency in MS Office tools, especially MS Excel
  • Experience with MS D365 is strong advantage
  • Experience in process transitions
  • Ability to work independently and meet tight deadlines
