1. Full-Cycle Client Management 

  • Serve as the main point of contact for an assigned portfolio of clients. 
  • Oversee the end-to-end accounting cycle including day-to-day bookkeeping, monthly closings, year-end financial statements, and compliance deadlines. 
  • Ensure timely delivery of accurate financial information to clients in accordance with relevant accounting standards and deadlines. 

2. Financial Reporting & Analysis 

  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements (P&L, balance sheet, cash flow) in accordance with GAAP or applicable frameworks. 
  • Perform variance analysis and trend identification to support advisory insights. 
  • Deliver executive summaries to clients, highlighting financial health, key performance indicators (KPIs), and areas for improvement. 

3. Account Reconciliation & Integrity 

  • Perform bank and credit card reconciliations with accuracy and timeliness. 
  • Reconcile balance sheet accounts, including intercompany transactions and accruals. 
  • Identify discrepancies, investigate root causes, and propose corrective actions. 

4. Process Optimization & Advisory 

  • Evaluate and propose improvements to client accounting processes, internal controls, and technology tools (e.g., automation, ERP systems). 
  • Provide clients with strategic insights and guidance to streamline operations and improve financial visibility. 
  • Assist in implementing accounting best practices tailored to the client’s business needs. 

5. Intercompany & Consolidation 

  • Manage intercompany reconciliations and ensure eliminations are properly accounted for. 
  • Support or lead consolidation processes for clients with multi-entity structures, including foreign subsidiaries when applicable. 

6. Tax & Compliance Support 

  • Collaborate with the tax team by providing accurate trial balances, schedules, and documentation required for tax returns. 
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local filing requirements by maintaining accurate and up-to-date records. 

7. Team Facilitator 

  • Support, coach, and review the work of junior accountants and interns. 
  • Provide technical guidance, conduct quality control reviews, and promote a learning culture within the team. 
  • Help onboard new team members and ensure adherence to internal accounting procedures. 

8. Client Relationship Management 

  • Build strong, long-term relationships with clients by offering proactive support and clear communication. 
  • Participate in client calls and meetings to address accounting questions and provide financial insights. 
  • Understand each client’s business model to offer relevant and customized advisory services. 
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Accounting or Finance. 
  • 3 to 5 years of experience working in a public accounting firm. 
  • Technical accounting expertise in bookkeeping, journal entries, bank reconciliations, and financial close procedures. 
  • Strong financial reporting skills across monthly, quarterly, and annual periods. 
  • Familiarity with U.S. accounting principles and practices (US GAAP) is considered a strong asset. 
  • Analytical thinking to detect and resolve financial discrepancies. 
  • Problem-solving mindset with the ability to recommend process enhancements. 
  • Familiarity with intercompany reconciliation and multi-entity accounting. 
  • Experience in financial consolidation and reporting. 
  • Team leadership and mentoring capabilities. 
  • Precision and attention to detail in all tasks. 
  • Effective multitasking while delivering high-quality outputs. 
  • Strong time management to meet multiple deadlines.
