The Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Boston Medical Center is recruiting for a per-diem Midwife. The Midwives at Boston Medical Center are looking to hire a per-diem midwife to join their practice and provide inpatient care on labor and delivery, triage, and postpartum. Boston Medical Center (BMC) is a network of support and care with a strong focus on public health and women’s health, including a robust family planning program and a recently renovated labor and delivery unit. The midwifery service is a multicultural group of 28 midwives committed to holistic and innovative care for birthing people and their families, attending approximately 900 births per year. Midwives also provide care in neighborhood health centers, the hospital OB-GYN clinic, and the Adolescent Center. The CNM hospital service includes 24-hour labor and delivery coverage, daily postpartum rounding, and obstetrical triage coverage. This is a clinical teaching position involving education of resident physicians, medical students, and midwifery students. The position requires at least five years of midwifery experience, a commitment to racial and social justice, and an active Massachusetts Midwifery license. Preferred qualifications include a second language and experience working with underserved populations.
