The Sanitation Worker is responsible for maintain kitchen work areas, equipment and utensils. 8 hours shifts every weekend availability required. Start times vary between 7:30 AM and 11:30 AM work until 9:00 PM. Essential Responsibilities include washing and restocking patient, cafeteria and catering dishes, pots and pans; cleaning and sanitizing tabletops, walls, and equipment; sweeping, mopping, cleaning and vacuuming floors; washing dishes by hand or using dishwashing machine; washing worktables, walls, refrigerators, and cutting boards; washing pots and polishing equipment; cleaning equipment using specific chemicals to ensure sanitary standards; removing trash and garbage to designated areas; transferring supplies and equipment within and between storage and work areas; complying with all departmental HACCP policies and procedures; reporting all accidents and injuries timely; attending allergy and foodborne illness in-service training, safety meetings, safety training and hazard assessments; attending designated training programs; demonstrating understanding of food service safe chemicals; and performing other duties as assigned. Required qualifications include some High School education, with High School diploma or GED preferred, and 0-1 years related work experience. Preferred qualifications include awareness of food safety principles, food service experience in a high-volume food service establishment, basic cleaning and sanitation practice knowledge, ability to work flexible schedule including nights, weekends, rotating holidays and extended hours, and punctuality. Competencies include decision making, problem solving, independence of action, written and oral communications, knowledge, teamwork, and customer service. Social/environmental requirements include working at an average pace with intermittent breaks, routine work with communicated changes, potential exposure to adverse environmental conditions such as extreme cold and heat, dust, gas, fumes, steam, chemicals, noise, and vibration. Physical requirements include medium work exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, constant walking and standing, frequent bending and twisting, power grasping, fine manipulation, pushing/pulling, reaching, lifting and carrying items up to 50 pounds regularly, with occasional heavier lifting and pushing. The organization requires all staff to be vaccinated against influenza and COVID-19 as a condition of employment.
