POSITION SUMMARY:
The Clinical Supervisor oversees and supervises master'sĀ level clinicians who are responsible forĀ evaluating, treating, and providing behavioral health services for patients of BMC Department of Psychiatry.Ā Responsibilities will include: overseeing daily onsite clinical activities, providing regular clinical and programmatic supervision to clinicians, providing clinical back-up and support to the teams as needed; performance management of Masterās level clinicians; payroll and timekeeping for program staff; and reviewing cases and documentation to ensure staff are compliant with approved protocols and procedures. In addition, the Clinical Supervisor also provides direct clinical care through individual, group, couples, and family psychotherapy using an anti-oppression and health equity lens. The position consults with, collaborates, and communicates with a wide range of disciplines within BMC and the community in the overall care of the patient.Ā

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES / DUTIES:
Administrative responsibilities include:Ā Ā
Coordinates day-to-day clinical management activities for CBHC Clinicincluding payroll and scheduling.Ā
Develops, communicates, maintainsand updates documentation of the programās operational protocols and guidelines in collaboration with the Clinical Director.Ā
Responsible for clinical management of staffing schedules, coverage and templates in coordination with Operations Manager of CBHC Clinic.Ā
In collaboration with the Clinical Director, the Clinical Supervisor will participate in hiring, supervising and performance management of clinical staff including mentoring, and providing clinical back-up and real-time support.Ā
Provides comprehensive onboarding and training to new staff members at CBHC Clinic.Ā Ā
Attends scheduled staff meetings and in-service education program offerings punctuality and consistency. Supports the ongoing training needs of clinical and resource staff.Ā
Conducts audits and weekly review of cases and documentation to ensure compliance with approved protocols and procedures; Oversight of care coordination related to stabilization and transition plans including clear, bidirectional referral pathways in and out of CBHC Clinic.Ā
Analyze key programmatic metrics on a weekly basis to interpret trends and recommend programmatic adjustments to meet state, hospital and departmental performance standardsĀ
Collaborateand provide problem solving on the spot with colleagues from internal programmingunder the CBHC Continuum, Outpatient Psychiatry and referring partners to deliver patients with reliable access to CBHC services.Ā
Ensure that patients access care utilizing a āno-wrong doorā/welcoming system of care that addresses patientsāneeds efficiently and with quality interventions and service.Ā Ā
Assist in promoting the program across the hospital and health system. ⯠āÆĀ
Utilize evidence-based clinical techniques and theory to guide assessment and intervention with high-risk patients and their families to ensure risk is managed and safety is prioritized. āÆĀ

Clinical SupervisionĀ
Supervises staff including training, delegating tasks, overseeing daily activities, mentoring, guiding through demonstration of best practices, and offering opportunities for professional developmentĀ
Coordinates and maintains the daily schedule for coverage across clinical areas and reviews with Director as neededĀ
Ensures appropriate clinical supervision for staff by clinical licensureĀ
Manages clinical training placements in clinical areas, including ensuring appropriate clinical supervisionĀ
Ensures appropriate standards of care for patients in crisis and assists clinical team in response to crisis situationsĀ
Maintains competency in areas of responsibility to ensure quality careĀ
Maintains a complete understanding of emergency proceduresĀ

Direct Patient CareĀ
Assesses patients and families to identify psychological, emotional and social concerns and needsutilizing the department's psychosocial assessment tool as a guideline.Ā
Provides evidenced-based psychotherapeutic treatment and/or psychosocial support to patients and families to reduce the impact of identifiedneeds and concerns.Ā
In collaboration with the patient, develops and formulates a comprehensive treatmentplan addressing multiple domains including mental health and health related social needs (HRSN)Ā
Reports any and all suspected cases of abuse and neglect and follows up to ensure patient receives timely comprehensive consultations and compliance with legal mandates.Ā
Identifies need to involve patientās family through the initial assessment process and attempts contact on same day, if indicated.Ā
Consults and collaborates with healthcare team members to ensure that patientās emotional and social needs are addressed.Ā
Ensures that patient and family remain apprised, involved, supported and treated through prescribed clinical relationships through at least weekly contacts and whenever a change in care or plan requires more contact.Ā
Utilizes evidence based Clinical Social Work techniques and theory to assistpatients and families in coping with illness or social problems to achieve improved functioning and emotional state.Ā
Maintains patient confidentiality according to hospital policy. Practices professional discretion when determining the inclusion of any patient information into medical record or department clinical record notes.Ā
Documents each patient encounter in the medical record or the Department clinical record concurrently according to Department policies. Specifically, documents ongoing treatment work in the Department clinic records. Each recording shall include date, time, title and signature.Ā

EDUCATION:Ā
Master's degree in social work, Mental Health Counseling or related fieldĀ
Ā
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS REQUIRED:Ā
Requires a current Massachusetts Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker/Licensed Mental Health Counselor licensure, or licensure eligible with receipt of license within 6 months.Ā

EXPERIENCE:Ā
Minimum three years of full-time work experience. Experience providing behavioral health care in medical setting preferred.⯠Previous supervisory experience is required.Ā

Must be comfortable in a fast-paced and dynamic work environmentĀ
Willingness to provide support to the youth team in the absence of the youth supervisorĀ
Cultural sensitivity and comfort with a wide range of racial and ethnic populationsĀ
Excellent English communication skills (oral and written).⯠Bilingual or multi-lingual skills (beyond that of English) is a plus.Ā
Ability to interpret data and use data to guide decision-makingĀ
Proficient with basic computer programs, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook), web browsers, and electronic medical records systemsĀ
Compensation Range:
$83,000.00- $120,500.00This range offers an estimate based on the minimum job qualifications. However, our approach to determining base pay is comprehensive, and a broad range of factors is considered when making an offer. This includes education, experience, skills, and certifications/licensures as they directly relate to position requirements; as well as business/organizational needs, internal equity, and market-competitiveness.
