The Procurement & Asset Manager leads the company's procurement, inventory, logistics, fleet, warehouse, and asset management functions in support of geotechnical instrumentation and monitoring projects nationwide. The role ensures safety equipment, vehicles, materials, tools, instruments, consumables, and monitoring systems are acquired, stored, refurbished, maintained, calibrated, tracked, and deployed efficiently to support project execution.
Working closely with Project Managers, this position forecasts resource needs, optimizes asset utilization, coordinates interoffice equipment transfers, manages supplier relationships, optimizes Corporate Procurement amd Leasing Strategies and oversees warehouses and fleets operations. The Procurement & Asset Manager also drives continuous improvement in procurement, inventory control, logistics, and asset lifecycle management while ensuring compliance with company policies, quality standards, and regulatory requirements.
Additional Key Responsibilities
Instrumentation Calibration and Asset Readiness
- Develop and maintain calibration schedules for monitoring systems, sensors, data acquisition equipment, and related field assets.
- Coordinate preventative maintenance, repairs, and replacement of instrumentation to maximize equipment reliability and service life.
Procurement and Vendor Management
- Sources suppliers & obtains quotations for good and/or services for Districts in order to assist with project bids or for projects support; Provide quote analysis reports accordingly.Â
- Generate Purchase or Service Orders as required;
- Negotiate key supply agreements when feasible;
- Evaluate supplier performance based on pricing, quality, responsiveness, delivery performance, and technical support.
- Identify opportunities for cost savings through vendor consolidation, long-term purchasing agreements, and standardized equipment specifications.
- Maintain approved vendor lists and ensure purchasing activities comply with company procurement policies.
- Vehicle Leasing – assist internal Requestors as required to initiate requisition & approvals process for leasing vehicles – generate purchase orders for leases & act as primary contact with leasing company – liaise with accounting department;
National Logistics and Resource Coordination
- Coordinate the distribution of materials, equipment, and company assets among regional offices to support project schedules and optimize equipment utilization.
- Collaborate with Project Managers to forecast resource requirements and prioritize asset deployment.
- Monitor company-wide inventory and equipment availability, recommending transfers between offices before authorizing new purchases.
- Coordinate domestic and international shipping and logistics to ensure equipment and materials arrive safely, on time, and in accordance with project schedules.
- Serve as the central point of coordination for inventory visibility, asset tracking, and interoffice resource allocation across the organization.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Logistics, or a related field, with a minimum of 3 years of experience in procurement, logistics, inventory, or asset management.
- Demonstrated experience managing procurement activities, including strategic sourcing, vendor evaluation, and supplier performance.
- Strong knowledge of logistics operations, inventory control, warehouse coordination, and materials management to ensure efficient and cost-effective operations.
- Experience overseeing asset lifecycle management, including asset acquisition, tracking, maintenance, inventory reconciliation, and disposal.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, vendors, and stakeholders.
- Proven organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects while meeting deadlines.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel), and inventory or asset management systems.
- Knowledge of procurement best practices, supply chain principles, contract administration, and regulatory compliance.
- Background experience as Electrical/Electronic Assembler and/or CAD technician is a plus
