Per Diem Admitting Representative
General Purpose:
Boulder City Hospital is seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Admitting Representative to join our team. This position is responsible for registering patients for hospital admissions and outpatient procedures. Duties include verifying insurance coverage, securing pre-authorizations when needed, and collecting payments.
Essential Functions:
Register patients accurately and efficiently for both inpatient and outpatient services
Verify insurance eligibility and benefits
Obtain insurance pre-authorizations and referrals when required
Collect co-pays, deductibles, and other applicable payments at the time of service
Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations
Demonstrate strong communication and customer service skills
Navigate multiple software systems for registration and insurance verification
Collaborate with clinical and billing departments to ensure accurate information and smooth patient flow
Perform duties involving standing, walking, lifting, and carrying
Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent required
Previous experience in patient registration, insurance verification, or a medical front office preferred
Strong interpersonal and organizational skills
Basic computer proficiency and accurate data entry skills
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and multitask effectively
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to lift, walk, carry, and stand for extended periods
