The Salvation Army Camp Mihaska in Bourbon, Missouri, is looking for a professional candidate with maintenance experience to join their team as the new Maintenance Technician.

This is a part-time, 24 hours per week, position.

The Salvation Army's Camp Mihaska is located at:

N. Bourbon, MO 65441

Essential Duties

1. Accept instruction and guidance from Camp Administration

2. Attend orientation sessions, safety meetings, and staff meetings as requested.

3. Occasional but rare opening and closing of camp for guest groups, some weekends required.

4. Support the maintenance of seasoned firewood.

5. Perform inside/outside the building regular trash pick ups, vacuuming, mopping, cleaning of restrooms and kitchens and other cleaning duties as needed.

6. Repair and maintain property including buildings, heating/cooling, plumbing, electrical services and furniture.

7. Assist with repairs and maintenance of equipment including lawnmowers, snow blowers, and weed trimmers.

8. Use of hand tools or power tools for basic maintenance services.

9. Remove snow from walkways, driveways and parking lots.

10. Meet with outside contractors regarding service work or estimates.

11. Perform emergency repairs whenever possible before calling in outside services.

12. Inspect, recommend and receive approvals for major building repairs and building/janitorial supplies.

13. Perform routine janitorial services as needed.

14. Set up rooms and equipment as directed. This may involve relocating office items, furniture and file cabinets. May involve relocating beds and bedding.

15. Help maintain records and conduct periodic checks on vehicles.

16. Ensure vehicles and off road vehicles are maintained, and operational.

17. Drive trucks/other TSA vehicles in connection with deliveries, pick ups and maintenance as directed. Help with loading and unloading as assigned.

18. Assist with set up and moving of supplies and equipment at various TSA events and locations as assigned.

19. Prepare and implement preventative maintenance schedule.

20. Implement and follow safety guidelines and restrictions.

21. Report to management on building security and safety.

22. Other duties as assigned and needed. 

Minimum Qualifications

    1. Ability to lift up to 150 pounds.

    2. Capacity to stand for extended periods, with frequent stooping, kneeling, or crouching.

    3. Good speaking, hearing and vision ability and excellent manual dexterity.

    4. Lifting, pulling, pushing of materials over 100 pounds (examples: rock salt, sandbags, cleaning supplies, tractor parts, chairs, beds, food                  deliveries) on a regular basis.

    5. This position requires use of ladders, and other strenuous overhead work repairing lights, ceilings and fixtures.

 Other Qualifications:
Must hold a valid driver's license issued by the state of residence.  Must be approved to operate Salvation Army vehicles and pass the off-road vehicle safety course. High School Diploma or Ged, Ability to pass background check, Prior maintenance experience required, Demonstrates basic understanding of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, small motors, diesel and gasoline engines, and other power equipment.
