Job Title: Maintenance Worker, Public Works

Job Summary: This position is responsible for performing general labor duties related to streets, water and sewer systems. The work is typically performed outdoors or in a vehicle.

Major Duties:

• Reads water meters as necessary.
• Replace damaged water meters.
• Operates chain saw.
• Cuts tree limbs and branches, picks up brush and leaves.
• Assists with street maintenance duties.
• Assists with water and sewer system maintenance duties.
• Cleans ditches and driveway pipes.
• Pick up litter, trash and dead animals along city streets.
• Operates backhoe as needed.
• Operates a bushhog to cut grass.
• Related duties as assigned.
• This position requires on call emergency response after hours or on weekends and holidays

Minimum Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• Valid drivers' license is required.
• Skill in basic mathematics, operating a motor vehicle, dealing with the public and oral and written communication.

Compensation: $16.50 to $17.00 per hour.

This position is a full-time position, eligible for the benefit package offered by the City. Including Health Insurance, Dental and Vision Coverage. Life insurance and a defined benefit (pension) retirement plan.
