Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site role based in Bowie, MD, for a Pastry Cook reporting to the Executive Pastry Chef. The Pastry Cook will work alongside the Executive Pastry Chef and pastry team to produce high-quality baked goods, pastries, and plated desserts for our restaurants, catering events, and signature cultural experiences.
Day-to-day tasks include measuring and mixing ingredients, operating kitchen equipment, monitoring product quality, and maintaining a clean and organized work environment. The role also involves collaborating with the kitchen team to meet production deadlines, contributing creative ideas to seasonal menus and event-specific offerings, and ensuring customer satisfaction.
This role offers exposure to a wide range of work — from daily restaurant pastry production to high-end catering events that bring nationally recognized guest talent into our kitchen throughout the year. The right candidate will be hands-on, creative, and ready to grow under the direction of an Executive Pastry Chef who values team development.
Qualifications
Expertise in baking and bakery production
Strong creativity and willingness to contribute ideas to pastry design and menu development
Knowledge of hygiene and food safety standards
Proficiency in culinary techniques related to cooking and pastry creation
Ability to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment and meet deadlines
Detail-oriented with a commitment to producing high-quality products
Strong collaboration skills — comfortable working as part of a team under the direction of an Executive Pastry Chef
Previous experience in a bakery or professional kitchen preferred
Culinary school degree or equivalent training is an advantage
