Medical Assistant – Lifestream Health Center (Bowie, MD)

Lifestream Health Center is a busy, patient-centered pain management practice in Bowie. We are currently seeking a dedicated, long-term Medical Assistant to join our clinical team. We are looking for a reliable professional who wants to grow with our practice and provide consistent, high-quality care to our patients.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Escort patients to exam rooms and prepare for appointments (chart prep).
  • Accurately measure and record vital signs (weight, blood pressure, temperature, etc.).
  • Assist with patient intake, triage, and documentation in the EMR.
  • Triage and process messages from patients to physicians.
  • Perform urine drug screenings.
  • Ensure patient compliance with UDS and PDMP monitoring.
  • Assist providers in the procedure room (with C-arm machine, ultrasound, etc.).
  • Manage prescription refills, DME orders, and pre-op instructions.
  • Monitor clinical inboxes, voicemails, and patient cases throughout the day.
  • Stock exam rooms with medical supplies and forms.
  • Maintain a clean and well-stocked exam room environment.
  • Maintain inventory, exam rooms, and sterilization processes.

What We're Looking For:

  • High school diploma required; college coursework preferred.
  • Medical assistant certification preferred, not required. Relative experience required.
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, teamwork, and professionalism.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 25 lbs.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
