SUMMARY:

This position will have primary lending authority up to $25 million to be used to decision credit requests from all lending regions of the bank.  This position will be a voting member of the Executive Loan Committee that has lending authority up to the bank’s legal lending limit and may also serve as Chairman of future regional loan committees.  Position will assist the Chief Credit Officer in implementing and enforcing the bank’s Credit Policy.  Individual will work with lenders and management to achieve the bank’s loan production, profitability and credit quality objectives.

 

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws.  Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

 

Ability to provide leadership and be the primary person making decisions about credit requests up to $25 Million lending authority.

Attend all Executive Loan Committee meetings as a voting member.

Attend future Regional Loan Committee meetings as Chairman.

Decision individual credits up to lending authority limit.

Assist the Chief Credit Officer in implementing and enforcing the bank’s Credit Policy.

Assist in the preparation and review of the 10-K and 10-Q regulatory reports.

Collaborate with bank examiners and external auditors to ensure appropriate financial reporting and lending safeguards are in place and effective.

Lead due diligence activities on prospective acquisition targets.

Conduct credit training as needed.

Maintain the highest ethical standards of conduct.

 

OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

Banking is a highly regulated industry and you will be expected to acquire and maintain a proficiency in the Bank's policies and procedures, and adhere to all laws, rules and regulations that are applicable to your conduct and the work you will be performing. You will also be expected to complete all assigned compliance training in a timely manner.

Ability to analyze the most complex financial and legal documents.

Ability to understand complex financial transactions and provide guidance or alternatives as appropriate.

Ability to effectively communicate acceptable credit structures to lenders and customers.

Excellent written communication skills.

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents.

Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community.

Ability to write speeches and articles for publication that conform to prescribed style and format. Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.

Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plain and solid geometry and trigonometry.

Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.

Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

Travel and occasional overnight stay may be required to conduct training sessions.

Proficient in Microsoft Office products including Excel, Word and Outlook.

Ability to learn other software as needed.

 

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:

The wage range for the SVP & Regional Credit Officer position is $275,000 - $295,000 annually. The position includes 27 days of PTO (Paid Time Off), 5 days of STD (Short Term Disability), 11 annual paid holidays, and 1 float holiday.

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED required.

Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting required.

Minimum of 15 years in Banking with lending and/or credit experience.

Department management or demonstrated supervisory skills preferred.
