Job Responsibilities:

To work safely and efficiently, ensuring set-up schedule and production needs are achieved.  It is expected that there is a commitment to never-ending improvements and a positive relationship with fellow Team Members and Leaders while supporting the Magna Employee’s Charter and the policies and procedures of BGM.

What we are looking for:

  • High School diploma or GED

  • Post-secondary education preferred, or related Tool & Die Setter experience in a Stamping facility preferred

Responsibilities:

  •  Complete set-up responsibility (i.e. new die set-up information)

  •  Pre-staging of all set-up (tools, dies, chutes, clamping required, transfer fingers, grippers, Julian dates)

  •  Load coils onto the mandrel and feed through the straightener and into the die

  • Unload coil truck and log coils into the system / manage coil inventory

  •  Assist Team Members when coils need rebranding and taken off the press

  • Establish and maintain communication with other team members and support departments

  •  Initiate and sustain 5S opportunities

  •  Assume Press Team Leader and/or Press Operator duties when required

  •   Supply tool room with necessary dies

  •  Continually organize the die and coil storage area

  • Support and assist operations during changeovers.

  •  Perform other duties as required.
