EP Shift Lead
Classification: Non-Exempt
Department: EP
Reports To: EP Supervisor
Position:   Night Shift Role Available 

Purpose
EP Shift Lead- Drive operational excellence and team performance by providing employees with the tools, training, and support needed to succeed. Key responsibilities include leading training programs, enforcing safety protocols, and achieving production goals through clear communication and strong leadership. This role fosters collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement to deliver immediate results and long-term success.

General Duties
  • Create an atmosphere of success by ensuring all team members have what they need when they need it.
  • Ensure proper training for employees at all positions within their EP line.
  • Understand safety expectations to model a safe and productive working environment.
  • Maintain continuous communication with leadership and staff regarding current production goals.
  • Delegate tasks to support staff as needed to complete daily duties and meet production goals.
  • Maintain good working relationships with fellow shift leads, quality control, and other departments to ensure production needs are met.
  • Continuously monitor EP line to prevent bottlenecks and constraints, adjusting workload and personnel to maintain flow of product.
Daily Tasks
  • Conduct before-shift line walk to ensure equipment is within tolerances and specs.
  • Check blacklight for correct specifications per inspection sheet.
  • Check fill levels of chemical tanks (nitric, water, penetrant).
  • Ensure line is clean and organized per 5S standards.
  • Monitor workstations continuously to maintain production speeds.
  • Verify SOP compliance and best practices.
  • Lead end-of-shift cleaning and preparation for next shift.
  • Work Environment & Physical Requirements
  • Ability to stand/walk 12 hrs. per day
  • Perform occasional physical activities such as walking, standing, bending, stooping, squatting, reaching, handling, pushing, pulling, carrying, and lifting up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to work in hot/cold environments.

  • Ability to read and interpret documents and SOPs.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to think on your feet.
  • Ability to read and comprehend basic English.
  • Ability to follow instructions.
  • Ability to complete routine reports and audits.
  • Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division).
