Job Type: Full-time, Executive Leadership

Location: Bowling Green, KY headquarters; regular travel across a six-state footprint

Reports To: Chief Executive Officer

Scope: Multi-state, multi-site 3PL warehousing, distribution, fulfillment, and value-added operations

Compensation: Competitive executive base salary 185-215K with 20% performance incentive, and full benefits


Position Summary

Bluegrass Supply Chain Services is hiring a Vice President of Operations to lead the performance and continued growth of our multi-state 3PL network. Based at our Bowling Green, Kentucky headquarters, this executive owns full operational and P&L accountability across Kentucky, Tennessee, Ohio, Indiana, Alabama, and Georgia — serving food-grade and regulated products, complex manufacturing, omnichannel fulfillment, and value-added services.

This is a hands-on executive role for a leader who is equally comfortable in a P&L review, a customer meeting, or on the warehouse floor.


Performance Expectations

  • Sustain inventory accuracy of 99.5% or better across the network.
  • Reduce service failures by 50% through stronger operating discipline and customer-specific controls.
  • Advance toward zero lost-time injuries while improving leading safety indicators.
  • Maintain hourly turnover at or below strong industry benchmarks.
  • Improve labor productivity and cost-to-serve while protecting service and supporting growth.
  • Build a deeper, promotion-ready bench of site managers, supervisors, and directors.

Requirements

Required Qualifications

  • 10+ years of progressive operations leadership in 3PL, contract logistics, warehousing, distribution, or fulfillment.
  • 5+ years leading multi-site operations through directors, regional leaders, or senior managers.
  • Demonstrated full P&L ownership and a record of improving service, safety, productivity, cost, and retention.
  • Experience opening new facilities or launching major customer accounts.
  • Strong working knowledge of WMS, labor management, KPI scorecards, and continuous improvement.
  • Executive-level communication skills, a hands-on leadership style, and willingness to travel regularly across a six-state footprint.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain, logistics, engineering, business, or a related field; equivalent senior-level experience will be considered.
  • Experience with food-grade, FDA-regulated, or other high-compliance customer environments.
  • Lean, Six Sigma, or engineered labor standards experience; familiarity with Deposco or a similar advanced WMS.
