Responsibilities

  • Excellence in Execution. Deliver consistent, professional hair services and/or nail services in full accordance with salon protocols and accepted certification practices. Be on time for every shift and prompt with every appointment, completing services within the time allotted. Uphold the highest standards of sanitation and sterilization as required by law and salon policy. Perform all prep work and properly clean your area after every service.
  • Serve First. Handle guest questions and concerns professionally and courteously, providing accurate and immediate responses to every Every guest who sits in your chair should leave feeling heard, cared for, and confident.
  • Develop Great People. Maintain complete knowledge of all salon services and products and share that expertise with guests — educating them on home care routines and the treatments that will best support their hair and/or nail health between visits. Regularly attend, participate in, and support salon training sessions and staff meetings, investing in your own growth as much as you invest in the guest experience.
  • Long-Term Thinking. Care for your equipment properly and use product amounts thoughtfully to support cost controls without compromising the quality of your work. Actively promote home care programs and meet minimum retail sales goals — because a guest who leaves with the right products is a guest who trusts your expertise and keeps coming back. Stay current with hair and nail trends so your skills always reflect the best of the industry.
  • Attitude is Everything. Be flexible with your schedule to support the needs of the salon and your team. Actively promote salon services, treatments, programs, and promotions with genuine enthusiasm. Maintain a positive presence that contributes to a quality work environment, and assist in all areas of salon operation as requested by management — because a great team lifts everyone.
  • Communicate to management all occurences involving staff or guests in the spa or salon that require attention promptly and without hesitation.

Qualifications

  • You hold a valid Michigan cosmetology license.
  • You have previous hair styling and/or nail service experience and a genuine passion for the craft.
  • You're available to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.  A resort salon runs on the guests' schedule, and you're ready for that.
  • You're a people person--warm, outgoing, and genuinely enthusiastic about connecting with guests and creating an experience they will talk about.
  • You have excellent communication and listening skills along with basic computer skills to support scheduling and salon operations.
  • You're a team player who takes pride in contributing to a postive, professional environment and you are comfortable working independently when the moment calls for it.
