Job Description
This is a full-time role for a crew foreman that will be working in the field on-site with some travel required on an as-needed basis. The Foreman will be responsible for overseeing concrete work on FDOT construction projects. The Foreman works directly with our Forming Superintendent and Project Superintendents and leads a crew to ensure that we install our scope of work safely, efficiently, and in compliance with standards and specifications.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as a concrete Foreman
- Experience with FDOT Concrete Work preferred
- Experience in leading crew production and maintaining quality control of work
- Excellent communication, leadership and teamwork skills. Must be able to coordinate delivery of concrete materials on-site.
- Proficiency with email & written communications
- Familiarity with FDOT Standards and Specifications
- Current Valid Driver’s License & clean driving record
Preferred Qualifications:
- Ability to lead others
- Minimum High School Graduate, GED or equivalent.
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills
- Multi-Lingual (English, Spanish, Creole)
- Must work well with all other employees, vendors, general contractors etc.
- Computer skills in Microsoft office, Excel, etc.
- Effective planner and well organized
- Punctuality and a winning attitude.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:
- Supervise and lead a Forming Crew, providing guidance and training to ensure quality workmanship.
- Plan and schedule daily forming and concrete finishing activities in coordination with project timelines and site conditions.
- Inspect finished surfaces to verify compliance with project specifications and quality standards.
- Ensure all safety protocols and OSHA regulations are strictly followed on the job site.
- Coordinate with project superintendents and other trades to optimize workflow and resolve any operational challenges.
- Manage the use and maintenance of carpentry, forming and finishing tools and equipment to ensure operational readiness.
- Document work progress, report issues, and maintain clear communication with site management.
- Train and mentor crew members to improve skills and promote a culture of safety and quality.
Skills:
The Foreman utilizes technical skills daily to assess concrete quality and apply forming and finishing techniques that meet project requirements. Leadership and communication skills are essential for effectively managing the crew, coordinating with other trades, and ensuring clear instructions and feedback. Problem-solving skills are frequently employed to address site challenges such as weather impacts or material inconsistencies. Knowledge of safety regulations is critical to maintain a secure work environment and prevent accidents. Additionally, organizational skills help in scheduling tasks, managing resources, and documenting progress to keep the project on track.
