Position Summary We are looking for an experienced VOB Specialist who specifically understands the Substance Abuse and Mental Health landscape. This critical role is the first step in our billing process, ensuring clients have access to the care they need by accurately confirming their insurance eligibility and benefits for substance abuse and mental health treatment. You will be responsible for timely and precise verification, obtaining necessary authorizations, and clearly communicating coverage details to our clinical and admissions teams. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Specialized Verification: Verify eligibility and benefits specifically for Substance Use Disorders (SUD) and Mental Health, including coverage for various Levels of Care (Detox, PHP, IOP, OP). Financial Analysis: accurately determine deductibles, out-of-pocket maximums, and co-insurance to calculate patient financial responsibility prior to admission. Urgent Response: manage a high volume of time-sensitive admissions requests, communicating clearly with the Admissions and Clinical teams. Payer Expertise: Navigate provider portals and conduct phone verifications for major commercial and government payers in CA, NJ, and FL. Authorization Prep: Collaborate with Utilization Review (UR) to ensure all pre-certification requirements are met for incoming clients. Tech Proficiency: Document all interactions precisely in Kipu and Salesforce. QualificationsRequirements Experience: Minimum 2 years of specifically Behavioral Health/Substance Abuse VOB experience is required. Knowledge: Deep understanding of behavioral health terminology (e.g., ASAM levels of care, carve-outs, sober living riders). Location: Ability to work 100% on-site in Boynton Beach, FL. Tech Stack: Experience with Kipu EMR and Salesforce is highly preferred. Communication: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills for effective internal and external communication (patients, insurance representatives). Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required. Strong knowledge of medical terminology, CPT/HCPCS, and ICD-10 coding related to behavioral health.
