About the Role

The Maintenance Technician supports daily hotel maintenance and repair needs to keep the property safe, clean, and fully operational.

Essential Functions

  • Respond to maintenance requests in guestrooms, public areas, and back-of-house.

  • Perform routine preventive maintenance on rooms, equipment, and building systems.

  • Troubleshoot and repair basic HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and carpentry issues.

  • Conduct regular inspections to identify needed repairs.

  • Assist with room turns and out-of-order room recoveries.

  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of shops, storage, and work areas.

  • Follow safety procedures and company policies.

  • Assist with vendor access and support contracted work as needed.

  • Maintain work order documentation and logs.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Experience

  • Prior hotel, apartment, or commercial maintenance experience preferred (willing to train with basic skills).

Education & Certifications

  • High school diploma or GED preferred.

  • Trade school or HVAC/electrical/plumbing training a plus.

Skills & Abilities

  • Basic knowledge of building systems (HVAC, plumbing, electrical, carpentry).

  • Ability to troubleshoot common issues.

  • Strong time management and ability to prioritize work orders.

  • Professional guest interaction and communication.

  • Reliable, punctual, and safety-focused.

Availability

  • Scheduling may include weekends, evenings, holidays, and on-call shifts as needed.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, climb ladders, work in mechanical spaces, and lift up to 50 pounds.

Work Environment

This position operates in a hotel facilities environment and may involve exposure to mechanical spaces, noise, and variable temperatures.
