Are you ready to be part of the cutting-edge world of optics?  We’re looking for passionate and driven individuals to join our Production team, on our 2nd Shift (3pm - 11:30; M-F).

At Lattice Materials, our mission is to be the leading high-precision manufacturer of complete optical solutions for mission-critical applications.  We deliver silicon and germanium lenses that support a range of critical applications including medical, aerospace and defense.  


This full-time position is located at our manufacturing facility in Bozeman, MT.   Candidates must successfully pass a pre-employment drug test and background check.


Role Purpose

The Production Operator is responsible for executing manufacturing processes related to the production of silicon and germanium components in accordance with documented procedures, quality standards, and regulatory requirements. This role supports safe, efficient, and compliant production operations while ensuring product quality and process consistency within an ISO-certified manufacturing environment.

Scope & Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform assigned manufacturing duties in accordance with documented procedures, work instructions, and quality requirements
 • Operate production equipment used in Silicon and Germanium processing, including loading, unloading, and monitoring operations
 • Follow ISO-compliant documentation practices, including accurate completion of batch records, travelers, and production logs
 • Adhere to all safety, environmental, and cleanroom protocols, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE)
 • Perform in-process inspections and basic measurements to verify product conformance to specifications
 • Identify, document, and report nonconformances, process deviations, or equipment issues to supervision
 • Support continuous improvement initiatives by providing feedback on process efficiency and quality
 • Maintain a clean, organized, and compliant work area in accordance with 5S and manufacturing standards
 • Comply with all company policies, ITAR requirements, and applicable regulatory standards

• Actively participate in and maintain 5S standards (Sort, Set in Order, Shine, Standardize, Sustain) on the production floor to ensure a clean, organized, and safe work environment that supports efficient daily operations.

Work Experience & Skills

• Education:
 High school diploma or GED required; technical or vocational training in manufacturing, materials science, or semiconductor processing preferred

• Experience:
 1–3 years of experience in a manufacturing, production, machine shop, or cleanroom environment; experience with semiconductor, silicon or germanium processing a plus

• Required Skills / Knowledge:

• Ability to follow detailed written and verbal instructions
 • Basic understanding of manufacturing processes, safety procedures, and quality control
 • Basic computer skills

• Preferred Skills / Knowledge:

• Experience using CNC and/or manual machining equipment, or Optical curve generators
 • Experience using basic measurement tools (calipers, micrometers, gauges)
 • Familiarity with ISO 9001 quality management systems

• Ability to stand for extended periods
 • Ability to safely lift 50 pounds with or without reasonable accommodation
 • Ability to wear required PPE
 • Ability to safely handle delicate, brittle, and sharp materials using approved techniques 
 • Ability to work assigned shifts, including overtime as required
