The Assistant Director of Education position leads and directs student support services, student discipline, student event attendance, specialists’ program decisions and supervisory responsibilities. Reinforce the provision of educational services by assisting the administrative and clinical responsibility for Palm Shores Behavioral Health Center. Support the direction and coordination efforts to meet educational needs of all residents, both special and regular education, in conjunction with IEP’s and requirements of regulatory agencies and school boards. Facilitate leadership and supervision of teachers, assuring that educational needs of the residents are met and ensure that the program meets standards and is effective.

Essential Functions:Â
- Works with the Director of Education (DOE) in shaping the culture, mission, and values of the school, and develops and implements administrative procedures consistent with federal and state laws and school practices.
- Monitors and ensures compliance with student records, clinical records in regards to education, IEP’s IIP’s and other documentation of educational services, and treatment progression.
- Creation and implementation of improvement plans and monitoring of progress toward proficiency on observation rubrics of teachers
- Planning, coordinating, leading/supporting IEP’s, and 504 Plans
- Ensuring teachers implement appropriate research-based interventions and are able to fulfill the required needs of Individual Learning Plans (IEPs) and 504 Plans.
- Ensures that training on and monitoring of standardized assessments as related to the identification of students.

Qualifications
Education: Master’s degree and at least 3 years of experience in supervision and an educational setting.

Licensure/Certification: Florida teaching license in ESE. HWC Certification.
Â
Must be able to pass a Level 2 Background Screening and Pre-employment Drug Test.
Must be able to interact positively with patients on a daily basis whose behavior may be challenging, uncooperative or aggressive.
Must be able to work successfully under highly stressful conditions;
Must be able to collaborate with other multidisciplinary team members in an appropriate fashion;
