The facility is looking for a Teacher who will be responsible for the educational leadership of students in the classroom. Provides a classroom environment conducive to learning. Strives to maximize the educational achievement of each student. Reviews student records in order to develop a foundation of understanding regarding each student’s abilities and needs.

TEACHER for Social Studies (grades 6-12). Certified in ESE (Exceptional Student Education) or willing to become certified within 6 months of hire.

The Hospital/Homebound school within the facility contracts with the Manatee County school district to provide a small classroom educational environment to residential patients. A 4:1 student to staff ratio is maintained throughout the school day for behavior support in the classroom with additional support from on-site psychiatrists, a board certified behavior analyst, therapists and a full medical team. We follow required state and county rules and regulations for a Hospital/Homebound site.

Qualifications
Job Requirements:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree from a fully accredited college or university.
- Certification: Florida Educators certificate required by the Florida Department of Education. Social Studies (grades 6-12) preferred.
- Knowledge of educational theories and classroom teaching strategies. Ability to work with multi-level/multi-grade students in small class environment. Computer literacy. Commitment to facility mission and policies .
- Additional Requirements: Must adhere to all facility and school board policies. Pass a Level 2 background check and pre-employment drug screen.
