 TITLE: Store Manager STATUS:  Exempt JOB # 6010   

IMMEDIATE SUPERVISOR:  Regional Manager

SUPERVISES: Assistant Manager, Lead all store employees

POSITION SUMMARY: Demonstrates Goodwill’s Core Values through actions and behaviors. Responsible for overseeing the operation of the store, including team leadership, donor and customer experience, merchandising, production flow, financial performance and compliance. Ensures excellent customer experience throughout all areas including the donation door, sales floor and cash wrap. 

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE:

  • High School or GED required
  • Customer Service experience required
  • 1 year retail sales or management experience required
  • CPR/First Aid certifiable (training provided if not already certified)
  • Valid Texas Driver’s License and good driving record required

QUALIFICATIONS / SPECIFIC SKILLS / KNOWLEDGE:

  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to coach, motivate and develop a team with varied performance levels
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills 
  • Ability to read, write, accurately operate cash register and complete required documentation
  • Ability to use essential systems such as POS, timekeeping system, Outlook, etc
  • Ability to safely lift up to 50 lbs, stand/walk for long periods, stoop and bend
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule based on business needs
  • Community-minded and able to represent Goodwill-West Texas positively

RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES:

  • Hire, train, supervise and motivate a team of 10 to 50 employees, depending on store size 
  • Provide coaching, direction and performance feedback in alignment with company standards 
  • Ensure employee evaluations and competency reviews are completed accurately and timely 
  • Support Mission Services by working effectively with program participants and employees with barriers to employment 
  • Adhere to and promote Goodwill’s performance standards and Core Values. Foster a positive team environment
  • Ensure shoppers receive an excellent customer experience 
  • Maintain high standards at the donation door, ensuring donors are acknowledged, thanked and offered a receipt 
  • Receive, monitor and replenish stock as needed 
  • Foster a friendly, helpful, mission-aligned store culture
  • Oversee production flow from donations & new goods through processing, merchandising & sales 
  • Maintain store appearance, housekeeping and merchandising standards 
  • Create and approve schedules and timecards, ensure adequate coverage for all store areas 
  • Provide accurate reports and required documentation in a timely manner 
  • Ensure safety, compliance & adherence to all company policies, procedures, laws & regulations 
  • Achieve and exceed goals in sales, production, round-up and other KPIs 
  • Follow budgetary guidelines and identify opportunities for process improvements 
  • Ensure accurate cash handling, balanced drawers and timely deposits 
  • Maintain knowledge of pricing, products and inventory expectations 
  • Make appropriate decisions in a variety of situations including but not limited to altercations, medical emergencies, theft, power failure, inclement weather, etc. 
  • Support stores with short-term help as needed with occasional overnight travel 
  • Communicate with and utilize resources provided by Regional Manager, Vice President and Corporate staff
  • Communicate appropriately and positively with co-workers and others. 
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by supervisor.
