Job DetailsJob Location: Maple Street - Brainerd, MN 56401Position Type: Full TimeSalary Range: $25.50 - $25.50 HourlyJob Shift: DayNorthern Pines Mental Health Center is proud to offer competitive wages and an exceptional benefits package!     We are seeking a Behavioral Health Practitioner to join our Mobile Crisis Outreach team. Travel throughout the six-county region will be required. The purpose of this role is to triage crisis calls and provide mental health assessments for evaluation of any immediate needs or crisis situations. Dedicated Practitioners will consult with the professional on duty after each assessment. MCO staff will work in teams with rotating shifts. Some holidays may be required. To allow appropriate response to crisis situations, this role may include on-call hours that achieve coverage 24 hours a day/7 days per week/365 days a year.    Essential Functions include: Provide consultation to staff regarding crisis situations Provide training to staff regarding assessments in crisis situations Conduct crisis assessments, an immediate, face-to-face evaluation to: identify any immediate need for emergency services, determine that the recipient’s behavior is a serious deviation from his/her baseline level of functioning and caused by either a mental health crisis or emergency, provide immediate intervention to relieve the recipient’s distress Determine the need for crisis intervention services, or referrals to other resources, based on crisis assessments Promptly provide crisis interventions, face-to-face, short-term, intensive mental health services provided during a mental health crisis or emergency in order to help recipients: cope with stressors, identify and use available resources, avoid unnecessary hospitalization and loss of independent living, develop action plans, begin to return to his/her baseline level of functioning Develop culturally appropriate crisis intervention treatment plans with clients and update as necessary Refer clients to different/ additional mental health services Provide crisis intervention for consumers within the community, interacting with Social Service agencies, Law Enforcement agencies, hospital emergency departments, etc.  Collaborate with community stakeholders throughout the region as needed to provide high quality client care Transport clients as appropriate    Qualifications include: Travel is a requirement of the position; valid driver’s license and ability to operate a motor vehicle are required Must meet Mental Health Practitioner status per the State of Minnesota in at least one of the following ways:  Holds a master's or other graduate degree in behavioral sciences or related fields. OR Has at least 2,000 hours (approximately one year working full-time) of work experience in the delivery of mental health services. OR Has completed at least 30 semester hours or 45 quarter hours of coursework in Behavioral Sciences or related fields AND has completed a practicum or internship that required direct interaction with adults or children served, and was focused on behavioral sciences or related fields.    Compensation & Benefits include: A starting wage of $25.50/ hour Opoprtunities for additional on-call pay  Health, Dental, Disability and Life insurance with other additional voluntary options for spousal life, short term disability, accident, hospital indemnity and critical illness plans Health Savings account with employer contribution 401K with employer match Generous paid time off (1st - 3rd year, full-time employees earn 19 days/152 hours per year.
