Description

Project Manager, Multifamily

The Norfolk Companies | Norfolk Multifamily Division

Why This Role Exists

Multifamily developers don't hire us for cabinets and countertops; they hire us to show up on schedule, solve problems before they become delays, and make their job easier. That's not a policy statement. That's the Project Manager's job, every day, on every site.

We're growing our Multifamily division and need a Project Manager who owns projects end-to-end — from the first field measurement through final walkthrough — and who contractors and account managers alike trust to get it right the first time.

Why Join Norfolk?

  • Full-time, stable position with a growing Multifamily division
  • Competitive compensation
  • Health, Dental & Vision Insurance
  • 401(k) with Company Match
  • Paid Time Off
  • Family-owned company with over 90 years of stability
  • Real ownership and autonomy on projects that matter
  • Career growth within a growing organization

What You'll Actually Be Doing

  • Own the project, start to finish — from pre-construction through closeout, you're the throughline that keeps cabinetry and countertop delivery on schedule across multiple developments at once.
  • Be the field expert — take accurate measurements, adjust shop drawings, and catch discrepancies before they turn into delays or rework.
  • Keep everyone aligned — serve as the main point of contact between the job site, the customer, contractors, and every internal department involved in getting product delivered.
  • Protect the schedule and the budget — manage procurement timelines, requisitions, payments, lien releases, and cash flow, flagging issues before they become problems.
  • Solve problems in real time — resolve field issues, punch list items, freight claims, and billing disputes without letting them stall a job.
  • Close projects the right way — manage subcontractor closeout, deliver manuals, warranties, and as-builts, and leave the client with everything they need.
  • Build relationships that last — with customers, vendors, contractors, and your internal team, so Norfolk becomes the easy call on the next project too.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of project management experience in multifamily, residential construction, cabinetry, millwork, countertops, remodeling, or a closely related field
  • The ability to accurately field measure and translate that into adjusted shop drawings
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills — you can run several projects at once without dropping a ball
  • Comfort managing schedules, budgets, and vendor relationships with minimal supervision
  • Solid working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, Calendar)
  • A valid driver's license and a clean driving record — you'll be on the road to job sites regularly

It's a big plus if you have:

  • Experience supplying building materials through a distribution channel
  • Prior hands-on experience with cabinetry products
  • Familiarity with Buildertrend, Procore, Bluebeam, or 20/20 design software
  • Bilingual English/Spanish

You'll thrive here if you're:

  • A natural point-of-contact — calm under pressure, clear on the phone, and someone contractors actually want to call
  • Detail-obsessed when it comes to measurements, orders, and documentation
  • Proactive rather than reactive — you flag the problem before it costs anyone a week
  • Frequent travel to job sites throughout the assigned territory
  • Able to walk, bend, and stand for extended periods during site visits and field measurements
  • Able to carry and load product as needed (up to 40 lbs)
  • Periodic evening and weekend work required
  • Professional appearance expected at all customer and job site interactions

Ready to Own Projects That Last Long?

If you're the person contractors trust to keep a job on schedule and account managers trust to handle whatever the field throws at them, we want to talk to you.
