Job Summary
The Senior Tax Manager is responsible for leading U.S. federal, state, and local income tax compliance and ASC 740 tax accounting for Zeus and its legal entities. The role supports the Director, Tax in executing the organization's tax strategy, managing relationships with external advisors and taxing authorities, and ensuring the accuracy and integrity of all tax reporting. The position operates as an individual contributor with cross-functional accountability.

Job Responsibilities
- Lead all aspects of U.S. federal, state, and local corporate income tax compliance, including oversight of returns prepared by external providers, extensions, and estimated payments.
- Oversee internally prepared filings, including property tax, annual information returns (Forms 1099, FBAR), and other state and local tax filings.
- Directs the assembly and review of data packages required for preparation of federal, state, and local income tax returns.
- Prepare and review quarterly and annual ASC 740 income tax provisions and all related financial reporting schedules.
- Direct the work of external tax advisors engaged for compliance and audit support.
- Review and approve tax return workpapers, estimated payment calculations, and information return filings before submission.
- Represent the company in routine tax authority inquiries, subject to escalation protocols with the Director.
- Support tax accounting matters related to R&D incentives, fixed assets, inventory capitalization, and other manufacturing-specific tax issues.
- Maintain tax-related internal controls, process documentation, and narratives in support of financial reporting and audit requirements.
- Serve as the primary liaison with external tax advisors, auditors, and taxing authorities, escalating to the Director as appropriate.
- Evaluate the tax implications of business initiatives and operational changes in partnership with Finance leadership.
- Research federal, state, and local tax legislation; assess organizational impact and identify planning opportunities.
- Communicate tax concepts and issues to non-tax stakeholders in clear and accessible terms.
- Identify, recommend, and implement improvements to tax compliance, reporting, and automation processes, including adoption of tax technology tools.

Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Accounting or Finance or related business discipline
- Active CPA license.
- 8 or more years of progressive corporate tax experience in public accounting, a corporate tax department, or both.
- Strong knowledge of U.S. federal and multi-state corporate income tax compliance.
- Experience preparing and reviewing ASC 740 income tax provisions.
- Working knowledge of partnership income tax compliance.
- Experience supporting tax audits, inquiries, and documentation of tax positions.
- Working knowledge of transfer pricing principles and documentation requirements.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel; solid working knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite.
- Strong analytical, research, and problem-solving skills with demonstrated ability to exercise independent judgment.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills across cross-functional and external audiences.

- Â Master of Science in Taxation.
- State and local tax technical knowledge and tax modeling experience.
- Â Experience in life sciences or medical device manufacturing.
- Â Demonstrated record of identifying and implementing process improvements using tax software or automation tools.
- Familiarity with Oracle EBS and corporate tax platforms such as Vertex or BNA Tax Provision.
