The Senior Human Resources Manager serves as a strategic business partner to assigned client groups, consulting with leaders and employees on a broad range of Human Resources matters, including recruiting, employee relations, performance management, immigration, benefits, and compensation planning. In addition, this role may lead a team of HR professionals, including HR Managers, HR Representatives, and Receptionists.
Essential Functions:
- Serves as a business partner to assigned clients and provides consulting on Human Resource-related issues including employee relations, performance management, recruiting/workforce planning, career development, and salary planning.
- Works closely with recruiting specialist/manager to provide recruiting support to assigned clients. This may include sourcing, participation in job fairs, diversity outreach programs, interviewing, and working within the Applicant Tracking System to ensure accurate recordkeeping
- Implements, leads, and facilitates HR initiatives and projects.
- Facilitates training on employee development, coaching, and other management topics.
- Assists Benefits Manager with disability and FMLA communications. Provides guidance and support to management and employees on benefit issues (eligibility, status changes, COBRA, leaves of absence, and open enrollment).
- Manages the annual performance management process by consulting with managers and employees regarding the process and tool.
- Mediates employee concerns and complaints. Leads/conducts investigations and manages/facilitates corrective actions.
- Responsible for complying with federal, state, and local requirements, including the Affirmative Action Plan; files EEO-1 and VETS-4212 reports annually; maintains other related records, reports, and logs to conform to EEO regulations.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Ensures compliance with state and federal employment laws. Keeps updated on current federal and state employment law through various means, including research, seminars, and meetings.
- Partners with the Immigration Paralegal to file work visas as they pertain to employee sponsorships.
- Handles unemployment claims and represents the company at unemployment hearings.
- Works closely with Payroll to ensure accuracy.
