About the Role:

The Dishwasher plays a critical role in maintaining the cleanliness and sanitation standards of the kitchen and dining areas, ensuring a safe and hygienic environment for both staff and customers. This position involves the efficient cleaning of dishes, utensils, cookware, and kitchen equipment to support smooth food service operations. The Dishwasher contributes to the overall customer experience by enabling timely meal preparation and service through consistent and thorough cleaning practices. This role requires physical stamina and attention to detail to handle repetitive tasks and maintain compliance with health and safety regulations. Ultimately, the Dishwasher helps uphold the establishment’s reputation for cleanliness and operational excellence.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Ability to read and follow written instructions and safety guidelines.
• Physical capability to lift and carry heavy items up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods.
• Basic knowledge of sanitation standards and food safety practices.
• Demonstrated reliability with regular and punctual attendance.
• Willingness to work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Previous experience in a food service or kitchen environment.
• Familiarity with commercial dishwashing equipment and cleaning chemicals.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, team-oriented setting.
• Basic understanding of workplace safety regulations.
• Strong communication skills to effectively follow instructions and coordinate with kitchen staff.

Responsibilities:

• Wash, clean, and sanitize dishes, glassware, utensils, pots, and pans using commercial dishwashing equipment and manual methods as needed.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the dishwashing area, including sinks, counters, and floors.
• Sort and properly store clean dishes and kitchen tools to ensure easy access for kitchen staff.
• Dispose of trash and recyclables in accordance with health and safety guidelines.
• Assist kitchen staff with basic food preparation tasks and restocking supplies when necessary.
• Follow all sanitation and safety procedures to prevent contamination and accidents.
• Report any equipment malfunctions or supply shortages to the supervisor promptly.
• Adhere to a flexible work schedule to support peak service times and maintain regular attendance.

Skills:

The required skills such as basic reading and following instructions are essential for understanding cleaning protocols and safety procedures. Sanitization knowledge ensures that all dishes and kitchen tools are cleaned to health standards, preventing contamination.
