Description

 

Boar Stud Specialist  Near Audubon, IA 

Full-time Monday–Friday | 5:00 AM–1:00 PM (approximately) | Rotational weekends required 

Job includes caring for boars and completion of daily tasks on a 500-head boar stud located near Brayton, Iowa. 

Communication, teamwork, and task coordination are required to ensure maximum productivity. Candidates must work well in both teams and individual work settings. The ability to manage multiple tasks at once and adapt to new situations with relative ease is essential. 

Daily tasks may include: 

  • Feed and water animals. Clean and disinfect pens and stalls 
  • Wear proper personal protective equipment when moving animals. 
  • Walk barns daily to check boars to check their health status and treat animals when required. 
  • Keep records of any boars that are treated or off-feed. 
  • Measure boar body condition 
  • Follow the training and collecting schedule 
  • Working with various equipment in the laboratory
